"Phil, or as you know him, Late King Philza of L'manburg."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"No, no you're joking. King Philza is dead. He's been dead for years."
"See," He stood, his smile growing wider, creepy, "That's what you think."
"Phil faked his own death a few years back. He was disgusted by the way the Monarchy was built, and how he couldn't change it. So he left, left Wilbur to take care of it. Tommy and Wilbur know that he's alive, and they choose to keep it a secret. I guess you know now, though."
You stood there, shocked. You had no idea. All kingdoms had been grieving the death of the king for quite some time now.
"Me and Phil are old friends, that's how I know him. Back before all of this 'The Blade' stuff began. We met one day when Phil had come to the nether with his parents to have a meeting with the council. He found himself in a bad situation with some Hoglins, so I saved him. His parents then brought me home with them, and I worked as a personal butler for Phil."
"You were a servant?" You said, laughing loudly.
"I guess you could say that," He sighed.
You calmed down a bit and slid over to sit next to where he was, and he sat back down in the same spot.
"So how would we inform him?"
Techno smiled again and turned to look out of the window. A crow was resting on the branch of a tree, seemingly looking back at him.
"I have a feeling he already knows. Now, we have to hurry to where we want to be picked up."
You nodded and quickly grabbed the bag that you had stuffed the clothes into just a second earlier.
"Here." You said, heading over to the balcony.
You had yet to move into where your parents used to live, so you still lived on a low enough floor for you to sneak out like you had in the past. You threw the door open and stepped out, Techno following right behind you.
"And how do we get down?"
"We climb down the tree. I've done it a thousand times, usually to go see the flowers."
"Can you do that with those shoes, princess?"
Instead of the usual disgust the title gave you, the way he said it made your heart jump into your throat.
"Don't call me that,"
"Noted. But can you?"
"Obviously not, I need to change into boots. Who can climb down a tree in 4-inch heels?"
"Good question."
You slid off your heels and chucked them over next to the closet, proceeding to grab the boots next to your bed. You put them on and tied them as fast as you could.
"Is this better for you?"
"Watch your tone. We're business partners, not friends. I could kill you any second now."
"Woah, calm down Jacobs, don't pull out the rapier."
"What?"
"It's a, ah. A running joke."
He hummed.
"Whatever, let's just go."
You stepped over the rails of your balcony, weaving your feet between the regal and sturdy bars. Carefully, you leaned forward and grabbed onto one of the larger branches on the tree. The rough bark dug into your palms, but you didn't pull back. You swung your legs forward onto another thick branch, digging the heels of your boots into the hard wood.
"That seems... excessive." Techno mumbled from the balcony.
"I'd rather not hurt myself before we even begin traveling," You responded, lowering yourself onto a smaller branch.
He answered with another hum, brushing off your agitated tone.
You slid down onto the grass, leaving a firm hold onto the branch above you. Carefully, you untucked your crown from your cloak.
The crown, regal and gold, was covered in glittering rubies and faux diamonds. Your kingdom wasn't the richest around, but it was known for its unique wine red rubies that were often used for lower royalties' jewelry. Such as princesses, princes, lords, ladies, dukes, and duchesses. As well as the faux diamonds, which were false diamonds usually used for the richer citizens of kingdoms. The real diamonds were given to kings and queens, your mother and father's crowns being woven of silver and strings of gold, decorated with shining, clear diamonds and a few small emeralds.
A crunching noise startled you from your trance, causing you to jump and nearly drop the crown.
"Ouch," Technoblade mumbled from beside you, "That fall is farther than it looks."
"Hurt your feet?" You chuckled lightly, looking over to him as you placed the heavy object onto your head.
"A bit. I'll be fine."
"I'm sure you will."
You two began to walk, making a beeline for the back gates. Disarming the two guards with a wave of my hand, you began to speak,
"Please unlock and open the gates, we would like to visit the field."
"Yes of course- but, well, who is this, your majesty?"
"He is my fiancé."
The guard's eyes widened as he traded a look with his partner.
"I did not know you were engaged."
"Well, I am. Please, open the gate. Now." There was an edge to your tone, a type of threat.
He nodded and pulled a key out of his pocket, inserting it into the lock and opening the sterling door.
"Thank you," You said, offering him a small smile.
Once you two stepped out of the walls Technoblade chuckled next you you, causing you nudge him with your elbow.
"Save the laughing for when we're farther away." You said with a smile.
And then the reality of the situation dawned on you.
