~December 20th 1996
I didn't see Draco at all after the other night. I wish I could say it bothered me but this was normal for us.
I understand the stress he's under. Being a death eater. It has to be taking a toll on him. He's been missing classes, started failing potions, which was his best subject. This caused Blaise to pass him and get invited to Slughorns dinner party tonight alongside Hermit, Four-eyes, Looney, McNasty, and me.
I'm sitting with Draco in the hall behind a tapestry procrastinating going to Slughorns dinner party. He has his usual scowl on. Not talking to me. Just sitting there deep in thought.
"Why am I here Draco? I need to go to this dumb party." I play with the black lace fabric on my sleeve. I'm thankful the pattern is thick enough my mark doesn't show through.
"Do you ever shut up? Stop asking questions every five seconds." He snaps.
I look at him bewildered by his attitude. I'm really tempted to slap him across the face, hard.
"If you're gonna be a dick I'm going." I stand up letting the long end of my cocktail dress hit the floor. I reach for the tapestry only for him to grab my wrist harshly pulling me onto his lap."Drac-" He wraps a hand over my mouth signaling me to be quiet.
I push his hand off wiping the edges of my lips to make sure none of my lipstick smeared. I hear people talking. Based on what they're saying it's Looney and Four-eyes.
"I've never been to this part of the castle." Her lulling monotone voice speaks. "At least not while awake. I sleep walk, you see. That's why I wear shoes to bed." What the-she's so weird.
Once they pass Draco stands knocking me off his lap onto the floor.
"Don't forget to cover for me later." He speaks not looking at me. I glare at him as he walks past the tapestry leaving me to stand by myself.
I wipe off the back of my dress pulling the tapestry back. I'm met with Blaise who's just walking by. My sudden appearance startles him making him flinch.
"Aurora, jeez. What are you doing back there?"
"I was, with Draco." I scowl. "Bastard stood up knocking me to the floor then leaving before helping me."
"Damn getting some before the party?" He smirks.
I smack him on the back of the head before I start walking to the party.

I never thought anything could be any more boring than the dinner party he hosted. I was wrong. I thought this party would have something interesting happen but no. Nothing. Slughorn hasn't even talked to the rest of us. Just showing off Four-eyes. I internally roll my eyes as Slughorn gets another photo with him.
That's like the tenth one tonight.
"Hello Aurora." My fathers monotone voice greats me.
"Hi dad." I go to give him a hug but he just holds his hand up stopping me.
"Not here Aurora, now is not the time."
I just stare at him dumbfounded. He never rejects my hugs. How much did going back in time once change?
I walk away from him and see Four-eyes and Hermit hiding behind the curtain as a waiter holds out a tray to them. Hermione roughing grabs it stuffing her face, McNasty walks to the curtain as Hermione slips out running away from him. She walks over to Looney and starts talking to her. I'm nosey so I walk over to them.
