Izuku's eyes scanned his room. A part of his childlike innocence returning, as his eyes danced across the blank wall, already thinking of designs to paint.
He remained cautious, but slowly began to get used to his new life with Aizawa and Yamada. He didn't smile much, but when he did it was genuine.
He was a light sleeper, which Aizawa and Yamada discovered quickly. Resulting in delicate movements around the house when he finally fell asleep.
After settling in, Izuku finally returned to UA, being welcomed back immediately by his worried classmates. Minus Mineta, who had since been expelled.
"Sign these papers, and it'll be official!" The cheerful woman smiled.
And with the flick of a wrist, the adoption was official.Izuku's eyes welled up with tears. Yamada hugged him, Aizawa smiled. And everyone in the office couldn't help but be happy too.
6 years later....
"Sir your being called in for assistance on this case. And you have a meeting at two."
"Thank you Isabella. Schedule a meeting with them on the 15th to discuss. They can also reach me through email or my work number."
"Yes sir, you also have a flight to catch at three. You'll be speaking to students in LA tomorrow, you will fly back at 1:30."
"Understood. My thanks." And with that the man left to attend his meeting in the conference room.
"Mr. Midoryia, what are your thoughts?"
"I would say that we need to bring more focus into versatile areas to save as many as possible. We could do so by assigning different locations to heroes on different days of the week. So if a hero wishes to have the spotlight sometimes, they can still get the satisfaction. But make sure the underground heroes are able to stay out of the spotlight on their rotation should they choose to do so. Just a mere suggestion."
"That makes sense. And with that we have the conclusion of our meeting, thank you for your time Mr. Midoryia."
"Of course, but I have to get going."
"Hello students. You probably think that I'm just another boring speaker at your school, droning on about friendship and believing in yourself nonsense. Well, you would be right. So let's start from the beginning, shall we?"
The students looked rather bored, but slowly began to grow interest in the man as he started speaking.
"From a young age, I was abused by my father. He seemed loving enough, but after he discovered I was quirkless, the demeanor of our house changed completely. He hated my mother because he believed she was nothing more than a whore who couldn't give birth to a useful child. Raped her, beat her. Same for me, he hated my existence. Because in his eyes, I was proof of his failure in life. And then one day, he took 7,000 dollars out of the bank account and left. Oh how me and my mom rejoiced. For the first time in 3 years, we smiled."
The students now seemed to be invested, which is more than you can say for most middle schoolers.
"Then-" The man took a deep breath.
"Then my mother was killed. A villain had broken into our house, a rather violent one at that. And the hero on the case assumed everyone was dead already. And so, he burned our house down. Killing the villain, and my mother. Who had only suffered a non-fatal stab wound."The students eyes widened.
"I remember that day, crystal clear."
"I was taken in by my mother's best friend, but was never officially adopted because I didn't want to be. I lived there for 7 more years, before running away at 14. And then, I did something stupid. I became a vigilante."
"I met some amazing people, but sometimes life doesn't go the way you want. I was enrolled in the hero course at UA, but all it takes for your heart to shatter is a single moment. When you can't keep it together anymore."
"That was a rough patch in my life. But look at me now, I own my own company, I fly all over the world, I rebuilt relationships I thought died off a long time ago, and for the first time in a long time, I can say that I'm happy. Truly happy. So with that being said, please remember difficult things happen. And I don't believe everything happens for a reason. I believe the reason comes after the everything. Make the hardship mean something."
"Any questions?"
The students erupted in applause, a few cried. And questions started to flood from the crowd.
One particular question made Izuku laugh.
"Are you single, cause I feel like your pretty rich, so you probably wouldn't be."
"No-" Izuku choked out through laughs. "I told you my inspirational life story and you wanna know if I'm single? I'm not for the record. Any other questions?"
Serious questions started to be asked in a more organized manner, and Izuku's small smile lasted the whole time, just as genuine as it had always been.
And with that, the first version of this story is complete! The rewrite will be pretty different, but I think you'll all like it. It will be more put together, longer chapters (hopefully), and have some art I designed for it along the way. Thank you for all the support and 15k reads! It's totally crazy. I can't wait to work on the story, and the next update will come soon. Also, I passed all of my exams!
