"A Nomu." Izuku's quiet voice muttered, but still heard by Gran Torino.
"One of those damn things?! Go to safety, you are not to engage."
Izuku wasn't going to. Yet.
"Manual!"
"It's you, that kid Izuku Midoryia."
Being first place in the sports festival did have perks from time to time. His quirk made an impression to say the least.
"Where's Iida?"
"I'm not sure, he took off somewhere."
Izuku's eyes lit up in realization.
"That idiot! What the hell?!" He pulled himself from building to building with incredible speed before the pro hero was able to say anything else.
"I am here to seek justice for my brother, hero killer Stain."
He pulled a knife out of the way before it hit Iida's throat, sending it flying towards Stain.
"Midoryia what are you-"
"What. Were. You. Thinking." Izuku seethed.
"I-" Iida hadn't ever seen Midoryia this mad. He didn't know him too well but, he messed up.
Iida was startled out of thought when his body went slack, paralyzed. A thin slice across his arm, just deep enough to bleed.
"Shit."
He pulled a few more blades out of his direction, sending them back towards Stain.
One finally hit, embedding deep in Stain's shin.
"You little brat!" He scowled.
Izuku had three small blades in his own shin, and two more after blocking his face with his arm.
He used the last of his quirk to slam Stain into the wall, knocking him unconscious. He'd overused his quirk at this point and already taken significant damage. But he dragged his leg along as sharp pain shot up his muscles.
Between tying up Stain and checking Iida for injuries, Izuku was running on adrenaline.
He hadn't slept more than 10 minutes for days now, and hardly eaten for a week and a half.
His head pounded, and having 5 stab wounds, along with severe bruising wasn't helping.
Stain's quirk had finally canceled out, and Iida switched places with Midoryia, much to Izuku's dismay.
He opted for leaving the knifes in, as they were the only thing stopping a symphony of blood. The police had been alerted, and a squad was on the way. Including an ambulance.
Despite a lot of scrapes and bruises, Iida was in much better shape than Izuku. Nothing that was potentially fatal.
When Izuku woke up he was in a hospital bed. But what was worse, was that he was in a hospital gown.
And that meant the saw. They saw the burns, scars, and every other poorly patched wound Izuku had dealt with for years of his life.
He ran his hands through his mess of curls.
What if the doctors told someone? What would he do then?
He felt his heart rate increase rapidly, breathing shortened. He couldn't breathe. He tried, but it was like someone stole the air from his lungs.
A nurse opened the door in a panic, the heart monitor showing an extreme rise in heart rate.
The boy had curled himself into a ball, tremors wracking his body harshly.
"Oh." The nurse started in a calm manner. "Izuku? Izuku can you hear me properly?"
He offered a shaky nod.
"I need you to look at me okay?"
He looked up slightly.
"I need you to breathe with me. I'm glad your awake. Today will be a good day. We're rumored to have some of the best ice cream here."
He inhaled sharply. Exhaling with the same edge. But the nurses gentle tone had eased him into remote comfort.
"Good, your with me now. Would you like some ice cream after your tests?"
He nodded again, hesitation clear in his eyes.
The nurse smiled warmly. "The doctor will be here shortly."
He heard the door close, a small click. The fading of the nurses footsteps down the pristine hallway.
Author here! So yes, Izuku's quirk does have limits. A powerful quirk like telekinesis makes it easy for him to be all powerful. But that would leave no room for growth. And I don't want Izuku to be all powerful anyway. I've read plenty of good books that people have written, but a common thing I see with giving Izuku a quirks that he has no backlash, and his quirk gives him godlike powers. Which is fine, but not what I'd like to do with my story. Izuku is inexperienced with his quirk because he just started using it recently. His quirk will always have backlash, as moving a lot of objects repeatedly, especially heavy ones, leaves him tired. Similar to Uraraka, except instead of throwing up he gets bad headaches and occasionally migraines. And fatigue. Hope this makes sense! Thank you for reading! <3
