(Please note this fic is very messy and not actually complete. Another version titled Axis (new) is the one you should read first.)
What does it mean to be a hero?
That's a question for the ages.
It seems morality loses to evil.
Heroes are villain...
"I swear that guy is fucking evil." Izuku growled as he climbed into his window.
He went to open the fridge. It was so empty, tumbleweeds could probably float around in there.
"The first time I've had a remote appetite in a month and I have no food."
Izuku left his apartment in basketball shorts, a t-shirt, and his red converse. This was his first mistake.
Aizawa and Yamada walked down the produce aisle, picking out the cheese and meat Eri likes on her sandwiches.
Aizawa was best over and caught a glimpse of red converse high tops next to him. He looked up at a boy grabbing a carton of milk and placing it in his hand held basket, and then walking away.
"Yamada." He whispered.
"What?" He whispered back, picking up on the 'be quiet' message.
"Do you think that might be him? Axis?"
"Oh my god. Maybe. Same build and height I'd guess. His hair's the same too, or at least what I've seen peek out of his hoodie."
"That's what I thought. But wouldn't it be awkward if it wasn't him and we bothered the poor kid?"
"I still think it's worth a shot."
But in all their muttering the boy had already left.
"Shit." Aizawa frantically scanned the aisles.
'WHAT THE FUCK!' Izuku thought to himself. 'THE ONE GODDAMN TIME I LEAVE THE HOUSE THEY HAVE TO BE HERE! Grab the milk and make a swift exit.'
"Shit shit shit shit." Aizawa muttered searching the aisles. He really just wanted to help the kid out, 'he's too young for this shit.'
Mitsuki and Katsuki grabbed chips from the aisle when they saw a vaguely familiar face.
Izuku turned and saw the pair of blondes. 'You have to be fucking kidding. I'm not even fucking religious and I'm pretty sure god hates me.'
Aizawa turned and saw the boy stopped in front of a pair of blonde people, 'mom and kid maybe?' He thought.
Izuku now had questions coming from the Bakugo's and Aizawa listening behind the shelves.
"Your name wouldn't happen to be Izuku Midoryia would it?" Mitsuki asked. (Yes they lived with him for a long time, however, he'd changed a lot, gotten slightly taller, more muscular, he has quite a few scars now, sounds different with no stutter, etc.)
"No." Was all he said back.
"Deku? You're Deku, I know it." Katsuki said.
"Who's Deku?" Izuku said keeping his act on.
'Runawayfighthelppleaseimsorrythankyourunawayfighthelppleaseimsorrythankyoufightrunaway' Izuku's painful memories returned, making it hard to focus.
"I'm sorry but I gotta go." Izuku grabbed his groceries from the cashier and left the store.
He ducked behind the building and slid to the ground. Tears started falling. He sobbed silently by himself for the second time that week. 'I have to stop this, I don't deserve to cry. I'm so useless.' He pulled his chest further to his knees and put his head in his arms.
Mitsuki's eyes began to grow misty. To her surprise, small tears started rolling down Katsuki's cheeks. She hugged him and he hugged back for once. The drive home was quiet. Besides the occasional sharp breath from Katsuki who just stopped crying.
Izuku locked the door to his apartment and sat down on the edge of his bed. He held his head in his hands.
"I have to go on patrol." He dragged himself out of bed and opened the window. He pulled on his hood and lept of his balcony once again.
Izuku played down next to a dumpster. "Jesus that fucking hurt." This was one of the worst injuries he'd had in a while.
Eraserhead frantically searched for Axis. He'd caught a glimpse before he disappeared.
The villain pulled Izuku up by the collar and smashed him into the brick before finally leaving. Izuku finally blacked out.

(Just imagine these with the costume I described and his mask still on)
Aizawa finally found him. "Oh my god, WAKE UP!" He pulled out his phone and called 199 (the emergency contact in Japan I think)
"SEND AN AMBULANCE! THIS IS ERASERHEAD THE PRO HERO WE HAVE A BOY- A HERO IN CRITICAL CONDITION! I PINGED THE LOCATION!" He hung up and called Yamada. "ITS AXIS. HES SEVERELY INJURED JUST- please come." Aizawa cried softly feeling like this was his fault.
He didn't have any medical equipment but he used his scarf to apply pressure to the wound. "Sorry kid. But I have to take off your mask now, I hope you understand."
He gently pulled the mask of his face. His eyes widened in shock at the sight. It was the boy from earlier.
Yamada showed up at the scene. "Aizawa!"
"Help, please."
"Oh my god." Yamada embraced Aizawa.
The ambulance finally showed up along with a very distressed Tsukauchi in his car.
Izuku was put into care at the hospital. When he was finally stable, they moved him out of the intensive care unit and into a room.
Aizawa, Yamada, and Tsukauchi sat at his side, not really getting up for anything except to talk to the doctors.
Shinsou was taking care of Eri and would bring her up to the hospital sometimes.
