Izuku looked up to see his new..... companion? Friend?
"Hi Izuku."
"Oh, hi Tsuyu."
"Hi Deku!"
Izuku looked up at the other (blank) he made. He wasn't sure how to label them. He'd never really had a friend before, if you don't count Bakugo.
"Hello?"
She sat down across from Tsu.
He'd also been unsure of how to react to Uraraka calling him "Deku" in such a friendly manner. But he decided not to bring it up because he wanted to stay away from talking about his past if possible.
The rest of their lunch consisted of a conversation that was borderline awkward, inviting Iida to the table halfway through. He'd been in the library for a bit.
Izuku finally decided to say something. "Are you uhhh excited about the training at the USJ?"
Some looked a little surprised, but Uraraka returned the question with a bright smile.
"I'm super excited. I heard Thirteen will be there, I can't wait to meet them!"
"Oh really? That's cool." Tsuyu added.
"What do you think Izuku?" Iida asked.
"Well I think it'll be great for those with a quirk suited to rescue. For example Tsuyu, whose quirk is suited to the water. Or even Uraraka who could use her quirk to easily rescue victims trapped under rock and such. But in her case, she can make her quirk suited to whatever situation with some creativity."
The small group looked a little shocked, minus Tsuyu, who'd seen the same analyzation skills back at the first training.
The bell had rung, indicating lunch was over. Izuku didn't eat lunch so he had nothing to clean up. He got up swiftly like always, leaving quickly. This time he gave a small wave to his (blank) group. Still unsure of what to call them as healthy friendships were a foreign concept to him.
Once he was gone, Uraraka was the first to say something as they walked back to class.
"Have you guys noticed Deku doesn't ever eat lunch?""Yeah, I didn't want to bring it up though. He probably has his reasons." Tsuyu replied.
"I guess, I just don't want him to be hungry."
"Today we'll be training at the USJ. The point of today is to learn about rescue work, and finding the best way to rescue civilians."
~one bus ride later~ (brought to you by spongebob voice)
"Hello everyone. I'm Thirteen and I'm here today to teach you about rescue work-"
A black and purple smoke formed above them, hundreds of villains pouring out.
Eraserhead and Thirteen immediately took defensive stance in front of the students.
"We have this handled, all students evacuate."
But Izuku knew better. He didn't have the blind trust of a normal teenager anymore.
"Iida I need you to run and get help. Alert the heroes and tell them to bring as many people as possible, understand?"
"Yes but Midoryia I-"
"I need you to do this. Okay? You're not running away you're getting help."
~Flashback~
Izuku's father had been taken into police custody recently. Apparently taking out his violence on Izuku and Inko wasn't enough anymore.Izuku had been 3 when it started, 7 when it ended. Those four years were complete hell. Even after the bastard was finally gone, he left lasting effects on them. Never talking loudly, walking silently, etc.
Izuku and Inko decided to move into a new apartment, as they didn't have much money because their source of income was gone. And the memories of him haunted the house like bloodstains on a wall.
Izuku met Bakugo Katsuki at that apartment. Inko was befriended by Mitsuki immediately.
Izuku remembers the first time he saw his mother laugh. The first time. And it had nothing to do with him. But he would never say anything. Because his mom meant more to him than anything.
He also remembers a different day.
He was eight at this time. Getting ready to brush his teeth while subconsciously motioning in the direction of his toothbrush. And it flew at him, hitting him in the forehead.
And a few seconds later the realization dawned on him. He had a quirk. Quirkless Deku wasn't so quirkless after all.
~Flashback over~Hiya! So yeah plot twist. Let me know what you think. Because I'm considering leaving him quirkless but I kinda wanna give him a quirk now so please give me your input! Thank you for all the support! <3
