"It would be nice to see you around, you know. Having another person to talk to." She smiles, or at least I think she does; I can't tell with the mask on her face.

"Yeah, maybe I will. To be honest, I didn't really think much about it. Today- I just needed a break. A break from all the chatter and the rumors and everything, you know? This identity helps me be who I want to be, and do what I want to do. I don't have to hide. I guess that's why you do what you do, am I right?" I stare at her, processing what she's saying.

"I-I guess that's right."

She turns to look at me, and I just sit there. "It's not so bad having another person like me in the city. I hope to see you around, Spiderman." With that, she jumps off the building, and I gasp, getting up to see if she's alright, until she rises up, laughing.

"I think you forgot I can fly." Waving, she flies away, and I just sit there, the shock passing through me.

I did it. I talked to her. Wow.

Suddenly, something ticks in my brain. The sun was almost down.

"May's gonna kill me."

Quickly, I swing home, excited.

Nova

That. Was possibly. One of the GREATEST feelings I've ever felt in my life.

Quickly, opening my window, I fly into my room and land lightly, making sure I make no sound. Shedding my dress and bandana, I stuff them into a corner of the room and quickly pull on some tights and a shirt. Opening the window again, I flew into an empty hallway, and pretended to walk to my front door. As soon as I knocked, my mom opened the door, ushering me in.

She walked into the kitchen as I plopped down onto the sofa, the adrenaline yet to wash away. I was probably grinning like an idiot. "Have you finished all your homework yet?" Ugh.

"No, Ma. I'll go work on it now." I dash to my room, and grab my backpack.

I talked to Spider-Man. Freaking SPIDER-MAN.

My god. Oh my god.

I slapped a hand over my mouth before I could scream. I don't know if I was happy because I finally used my powers after so long, or because I talked to Spiderman, or because of the view from the top of the building, or the freedom of being able to use your powers, but in the end, I felt so, so content.

"I need to start doing that more often...." I whispered to myself, opening my backpack. My head was lightly pounding, so I took my hair out of the tight ponytail, letting it fall in waves around me. Sighing, I grabbed the science papers and hopped onto my bed, using my powers to grab a pencil from across the room.

"AAGHHHHH I HATE SCHOOL." My head hit my pillows behind me, arms sprawled and legs crossed to prevent touching the papers. "It makes no. freaking. sense." Shaking my head, I grab my phone and text the group chat.
