Peter Parker

"THE Tony Stark?!?"

I sighed, walking down the stairs after shutting the front door to Star's house. "Yeah, Ned. I have to go to the compound again. We saw some equipment that we could probably use-"

"Ok, but how are you gonna go? And when? It's like 6 in the morning on a Sunday, would anyone even be up?"

"We are, aren't we?"

"Yeah, but that's 'cause this is the only time Nova's parents would be out."

I faltered in step when he said her name, still not getting used to her not being beside me. It felt so off. I hated it.

"Look, at this point, I don't care. If I have to go bursting through the front doors and wake everyone up, then so be it. All that matters right now is that we get her back."

An exhale was heard through the phone, and I know he gave in.

"Fine, ok. But be careful, yeah?"

Sayin bye, I cut the call, slipping my phone into my pocket.

I was going to find her, no matter what.

Nova

I felt the sting of the shot in my arm, and I scowled before yelping at the sensation that filled my veins.

Fire. Liquid fire in my veins. Except, it wasn't the kind of fire that I could control, the fire I created. No, it was the scalding, painful fire that burned me from the inside, and I began to yell, my muscles slowly reacting to the pain and thrashing. The restraints I was tied into began to dig into my skin, but the pain inside was mind-blowing. The powers in me were reacting, I could tell. To do what? No idea. They were trying to break free, trying to expel whatever was flowing through my system, and the combined pressure of this and the serum made me go to a point where I was almost numb. My hands were fisted, and my toes curled at the torture. It was as if everything was sent into overdrive.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Abaddon looking at me in almost awe, as the scientist scratched down something on the clipboard.

It was as if the pain was escalating, and I kept yelling at the pain, my voice hoarse and rough as it echoed throughout the room. My eyes were wide, almost paralyzed, as the rest of my body moved to its own accord.

Slowly, slowly, slowly, the effect of the serum began to fade, and I gasped, breathing heavily, closing my eyes and my body relaxing into the chair, the pain in my nerves leading into a warm, tingly, yet unwelcome sensation in my body.

"Magnificent.." I heard Abaddon's smooth voice say, and if I had the energy and power to, he would be smeared across the opposite wall by now.

My breaths were still shaky, and my heart was still racing, but my body wasn't fighting with itself anymore, and I was thankful for that.

"It seems she has many more secrets lying in her veins, hm?" The scientist proclaimed, and I gritted my teeth, finally opening my eyes, only to close them again.

They felt...dry and tingly, a weird sensation that I had never felt before. It was on the brink of painful, yet it wasn't.

Blinking again, I opened them, cringing away from the light, and scowled.
