Peter Parker

"Give me a sec, my girlfriend's calling me," Lila picks up her ringing phone and walks to the corner of the room, talking in a hushed voice.

"So. We kind of have an idea of what the box could possibly symbolize. Now, we gotta know who these people are. Any ideas?"

Mr. Stark rubs his chin for a moment, thinking.

"I can try to trace where all of this kind of metal was transported to in New York, and we can go from there. For now, you kids head home. I'll text you when I find something."

I was reluctant. I didn't want to leave when we could possibly find something.

"Mr. Stark...is it alright if I stay?" I asked, and everyone paused while packing up.

"Are you sure, kid? You need sleep too-"

"No. I want to stay. Please. If there's any chance that we can find her sooner, I don't- I don't want to risk it."

A flash of melancholy passes through his face before he sighs, running his hands through his hair and finally nodding.

"Alright. I have quite of few empty rooms, Vision will show you to one. FRIDAY'll alert you on any updates with the search."

A curt nod, and I follow the synthezoid out, waving bye to Lila and Ned.

The walk through the hallways was quiet, our footsteps resounding around the walls. I caught Vision looking at me multiple times, and for what I don't know.

"You care for her deeply." The sudden sound of his voice was a little bit of a shock, but I look up, the stone in his head gleaming, and slowly nod.

"A lot more than I would like to admit to."

He nods understandingly, then furrows his brows together in confusion.

"What is she...to you?" The question threw me off guard, and I frowned.

"She's my- she's-"

Best friend didn't seem like strong enough of a word.

But what else would she be to me?

Why else would I care for her so much?

"She's my Star."

I don't know if Vision knew what I meant.

If I was honest, I didn't know what I meant. It just seemed right in the moment.

Silence ensued once again, and I remembered I needed to call May as soon as I got to the room I'd be staying in.

The walk was long with the compound being larger than before, and by the time we stopped, I could feel the tug of the muscles in my thighs.

"Here's your room. Ask FRIDAY if you need anything. Good night." Turning around, Vision stopped before he left, looking back at me.

"I hope we find your Star soon."

I stood there for a moment, and smiled softly at him before entering into the room, barely looking at the inside before pulling my phone out.
