"Here's the layout. There are multiple rooms across the compound, so you have to be careful so that you don't go into the wrong ones."

Evan points at the hologram that was displayed above the table, and we all watched as he explained the placing of everything.

"This is where Nova is." He points at a room hidden deep in the labyrinth, a small cell surrounded by hallways and labs.

Mr. Stark zoomed in, and the blue light of the hologram surrounded us, virtually transporting us there.

"There's a hallway right there. Usually, two guards are positioned right outside the door at almost all times, except during the shift change at 8 pm."

We nod, completely focused as he explains everything.

"Be ready for anything. We don't know what to expect; Abaddon has so many more things hidden up his sleeve that even I haven't seen."

Ending his little Q & A session, we all quickly grab our gear and climb into the car, bouncing my foot nervously as it speeds off.

Lila had her hair tied up tightly with a small weapons belt placed on her hip, identical guns as well as throwing knives accompanying her.

Ned was strapped into a suit with all kinds of gadgets and knickknacks in it, his hair gelled back to get away from his eyes. For once, even he seemed serious enough not to crack a single joke.

I was wearing my suit, my mask in my hands as my eyes stayed unfocused, Star's face flashing across my mind.

It's been too long since I've seen her.

I was scared.

Genuinely scared.

I didn't know why, but I was.

A bad feeling churned in the pits of my stomach, and I gulped.

I didn't know what we were about to face, but whatever it was wasn't good.

Nova

Dr. Kivson rattled off orders as the door closed with a click. Abaddon had suprisingly left the room, leaving me with the white haired woman and the two guards at the door.

My arms were strapped to the chair, reminding me of the time they poured lava in me.

To the side table beside me, there was a petri dish and scalpels lain flat, the harsh light of the bulbs reflecting off of the cool metal of them. Q-Tips accompanied them as well as some kind of bottle filled with a clear liquid.

Inside the petri dish was a small, black, glossy chip, similar to a SD card. Instantly, I wondered what it was for; something that small couldn't somehow cause me pain, right?

The scratching of a pen filled the room, and I flinched before averting my eyes, automatically finding the noise.

Dr. Kivson was writing furiously on her little pad, pausing to glance at up at me before continuing.
