Peter Parker
I felt bad watching Primora leave, but after knowing her for a few months now, I know she's stubborn as hell.
She reminds of Nova.
Tracing my steps back, I walk back home, trying to find my way.
"Stay close to the ground? What is he talking about?" I mutter, feeling defeated.
As I walk past an empty yard, I spot something on the road, and my eyes widen.
Crouching down, I pick it up, examining it carefully. I flip it, checking it out. "Whoa."
My phone begins to ring, so I slip it out and put it to my ear.
"Hey, man, what's up? I'm on my way back."
"Actually, I was calling to say maybe you shouldn't come. Listen to this." I press the phone further into my ear.
"When I say "penis," you say "Parker." Penis!"
"Parker!"
"Penis!"
"Parker!" I growl, pissed at Flash.
"Sorry, Peter. I guess we're still losers. I'll see you tomorrow."
"I'll see you tomorrow in school." Ned cuts the call, and I sigh, picking up the energy core. Metal wires encased the purple glowy thing inside, and it gave off a creepy vibe.
I'm gonna find out what it is, with or without Mr. Stark's permission.

I took the core to shop class, hoping me and Ned can find some clue about what it is.
Using a hammer, I bang the core, trying to open the metal casing. It opens slightly, and the purple glow emits from it. "Oh." I pry it apart as Ned walks up next to me, looking at me.
"Hey, thanks for bailing on me." I restrain from rolling my eyes.
"Yeah, well, something came up." He looks down to see the core in my hands, and his eyes widen. "Oh, what is that?"
I shrug, focused on pulling the metal apart.
"I don't know. Some guy tried to vaporize me and Prim with it."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah."
"Awesome."
I give him a 'what the heck, dude?' look, and he coughs.
"I mean, not awesome. Totally uncool of that guy. So scary." Shaking my head, I get back to work.
"Well, look, I think it's a power source."
He looks down, eyeing it. "Yeah, but it's connected to all these microprocessors. That's an inductive charging plate. That's what I use to charge my toothbrush."
Stepping closer, he points at the charging mechanism.
Running a hand through my hair, the gears in my brain turn. "Whoever's making these weapons is obviously combining alien tech with ours." Ned widens his eyes, smiling.
"That is literally the coolest sentence anyone has ever said. I just want to thank you for letting me be part of your journey into this amazing-" I zone him out, picking up the hammer again. Bringing it up, I hit it down against the core hard, and it pops out, making a noise. We both simultaneously whip our heads around to see if the teacher saw, and spot him reading a book, not paying any attention.
