TW: DETAILED DROWNING SCENARIO, PROCEED WITH CAUTION

Nova

"Where the hell are you taking me?!" I yelled, trying to scramble away, but the guards kept a tight grip around my arms, leaving bruises before the other ones could even heal.

"Put her in and lock it; we don't want to flood the place."

The guards seemed to comply quietly, and kept dragging me to the large tube box in the corner of the room.

"Let. me. go!" My screams echoed to no response as the glass door unlocked, and I was shoved inside. I fell to my knees, coughing, as the door clicked shut behind me.

The tube resembled a torpedo slide's beginning, but instead of filling me with a mix of nervousness and excitement, all it did was seal my impending doom.

It seemed soundproof, because even though I could see the mouth of Scientist Lady moving, speaking to the guards, no sound came through to here.

Scrambling up to my feet, my eyes scan the box, trying to find a hole or some kind of thing I could use to escape.

"Oh, c'mon, c'mon..."

Nothing.

The tube was almost completely sealed, except for vents beneath me, and I couldn't possibly get through them.

I tried flexing my fingers, summoning the fire to melt the glass, but the block was still there, dark and shadowy and persistent. It was wearing thin, but not fast enough.

Unbeknownst to me, water had slowly started to climb the vents, and it had nothing to do with the power I controlled; no, it was intended to control me.

It hit my toes first, ice cold and shocking. I yelped, walking backwards and plastering myself at the glass. I watched the water begin to slowly rise, and my eyes widened, fear instilling itself in my heart.

"Shit, shit, shit..."

I desperately rush around the small tube, banging at the glass.

"Let me out! Please, let me out, let me out!"

The water was trickling up to my ankles now, headed for my calves, and my bottom lip began to wobble, tears threatening to come down my face.

I hadn't felt this afraid of something since forever.

"Please, I'll do anything, please, just get me out..." my voice came out in whimpers, tears slowly making a trail down my face as I splashed around the tube, still attempting at anything.

God.

All Abaddon and Scientist Lady did was jot notes and speak to each other, barely sparing a glance at my pleas. I banged harder, the outer rim of my fists beginning to burn, but they didn't have a care in the world, and a sobbed built up in the back of my throat, threatening to rip through in shreds.

Come on, powers, you love to make your entrance last minute. Let's save the dramatics this time and instead SAVE MY LIFE PLEASE THANK YOU.

Nothing.

The icy liquid had reach my waist, and my feet began to lift off the ground, pushing me upwards with the water. The prison dress floated around my thighs, revealing much more than I was comfortable with, but at the moment that was the least concern on my mind.
