"Ask what you want to."
She looked at me in shock.
"How did you know I was going to ask you something?" A small smile tugged at my lips, rare yet true.
"Your face is quite literally an open book. Anyone can see the gears in your head turning." She rolled her eyes, the corners of her lips holding in a grin, and sighed.
"Are there any more? Like me? Here?" A shattered breath escaped my mouth, and I looked at my feet, letting the answer slip.
"4 more. Kye, Vyrin, Amelia, and- and Imani."
|Kye is pronounced as Ke-Yay, Vyrin is pronounced as Vy-rin, and Imani is pronounced as I-man-i|
She looked at me, and I realized she was waiting on me to explain. Taking a deep breath, I continued.
"Each one of them, like you, has a special...ability, let's say. Kye; they can control the blood in someone's body, and heal just as much as they can hurt. Vyrin is what we call an illusionist; he can create things that aren't there, phase through matter, the usual. Imani- she's a- she can control metals as well as invisibility, and lastly, Amelia is a light-bender; she can create, spin, and bend light to her will."
She was noting everything down in her head, her eyes unfocused as she pressured herself to keep the information in her. Once I stopped talking, she looked back up, questions ready to hurl at me.
"H-how? How did they- how did I...."
I knew she would as this.
It was the inevitable.
Yet, I didn't want to answer.
Gulping, I fiddled with my fingers and a stray string from my suit, mentally remembering to cut it off once I got home.
"N-N-Primora..." I saw brows draw together at the use of her alias, but I couldn't bring myself to say her name.
"For the past couple years...Pandora's Lab has been..attempting to create a serum in which the receiver-"
"-gains superpowers..." The edges of her words trailed off into nothingness, but before me or her could utter another word, the door opened and I sprung up to my feet, my mask slipping on with ease, covering every emotion in my eyes.
Abaddon strutted in, a proud glint in his eyes, his hands clutched lazily behind him against his back. The nurse walked in behind him, practically shaking in fear as her gaze landed upon me and then Nova.
"Gave her a good talk, Agent?" He smirked, and I averted my eyes to the wall behind him, not wanting to meet the storminess I had once fallen head-over-heels for, but now felt nothing.
"Well, so sorry to ruin the mood, but I would like to have a rather private talk with our...special guest here."
It was his indirect way of kicking me out like his lapdog.
Gritting my teeth, I exited the room, not sparing a glance behind me as the door shut close.
I exhaled, stopping and closing my eyes to calm myself down.
The realization was finally washing over me- I talked to her for the first time.
