Peter Parker
I watch as Ned searches for me, and a guilty feeling drills itself into my heart.
Before I can decide whether I should go down or just leave, in the corner of my eye, I catch sight of a large, blue explosion, a couple miles away from here.
"What the hell?"
Slipping my mask on, I run and jump off the roof, shooting my webs into the trees and swinging.
Nova
Since I told my mom that I was at a party, I couldn't really go home early. I thought maybe I could hang out with Charlotte, but I guess he decided to ditch me too.
What's with my friends ignoring me?
Sighing, I get up from my wallowing pity and decide to walk down an empty street in the suburbs, tired of the day. Just then, I see the tip of a blue....explosion? Launching myself into the air, I try to get a better glimpse at it. It seemed not too far away from here, and it looked and felt off; like it was wrong.
Beside me, to my left, I hear a rustling getting closer and closer, and I spin around, only to watch in surprise and shock as Spider-Man runs and tries to attach his webs onto something, only to activate the sprinklers in the wide golf course.
"This sucks," he mutters before spotting me.
"Prim!" I smile slightly and roll my eyes, before turning back around and pointing towards the explosion.
"You saw that too, right?" He nods, and I motion for him to follow me. While I fly, he begins to run through the sprinklers, and I try to stop myself from laughing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Landing next to a wide pillar, I make no sound, careful to watch out for sticks and rocks near my feet.
Spider-Man attaches himself to the pillar and crawls down the side of it, and we both peek from behind, trying to glimpse at what was happening.
There were a total of 3 people there, including a large van that seemed to hold a variety of things, but I couldn't quite see from my spot exactly what they were.
"Okay, okay, okay. I got what you need, all right? I got tons of great stuff here. One sec." I cock my head to the side, trying to understand the conversation.
The man who just spoke turns around to the back of the van and searches through their things, and I see that Cobwebs narrows his at the van.
"Weapons. They have weapons," he whispers to me, and I nod, still trying to listen into the conversation.
"Okay, I got, uh, black hole grenades, Chitauri railguns..." I lean in, a little shocked on where he got all of this stuff.
"You letting off shots in public now? Hurry up. Look, times are changing. We're the only ones selling these high tech weapons." I look up at Spider-Man, and watch as the gears turn in his head.
"Oh, this must be where the ATM robbers got their stuff." Looking back down at the scene playing in front of us, and watch as the man who seems to be the buyer looks around, a little nervous.
"I need something to stick up somebody. I'm not trying to shoot them back in time."
" I got anti-grav climbers."
"Yo, climbers?" This seems to peak his interest, and I widen my eyes when he takes a step forward-
-just to be interrupted by a loud, might I say annoying ringtone plays. I spin around, looking for where it's coming from, and Charlotte gives me a sorry look, holding his phone in his hand.
"You brought your phone?!" I whisper scream at him, and he shrugs guiltily.
I hear a commotion from the guys, and I watch again as the sellers start to accuse the buyer of setting them up, but he denies. Grabbing a large gun, they aim it at him, and I restrain a gasp.
"I think that's our cue." He nods, and flips off of the pillar, landing on the ground. I run and stand next to him, narrowing my eyes.
"Hey! Hey, come on. You gonna shoot at somebody, shoot at me." WHAT? I whip my head and look at the idiot standing next to me, and slam my palm against my forehead.
" All right." Nuh uh.
Charlotte webs up the gun, and I run and slam him onto the ground, throwing the gun far away from his reach. I hear a thud behind me, and see Webs coughing, holding his stomach. The weapons dudes climb into the van, laughing.
"What was that?" Without a reply, I launch myself into the air, and he shoots a web, attaching himself onto the dealer's open van door.
"Be careful!" I shout, before trailing the van in the air. I begin to throw fireballs in front of the van, trying to stop it, but they dodge, going ahead full speed. I cringe as Spider-Man hits a trash can, groaning as he's dragged along with the truck. He shoots another web at the door, and I slam rocks into the windows to no avail.
Up in the air, my sight became blurry, and I gasp when another blast echoes, breaking off a van door.
Just then, I falter in the air, dropping a few feet before gaining altitude again. "What was that?"
Another power blast to the side of the van, and I falter again, dropping even lower. This isn't normal...
Giving up on flying, I drop down to where Cobwebs crashed, helping him get up. He tries to shoot another web at the van door, but it breaks off, and he huffs.
"Great. Guess I'm going to have to take a shortcut."
"Me too." He looks at me, confused.
"I-I don't know why, but I can't fly properly. I'll explain later." Nodding, we both begin to run, jumping over a metal gate and and sliding down parked cars. Running past an open garage, we spot to men playing ping pong, and I wave, smiling.
"Hey, guys. Good game. Have fun." They stop in their tracks, watching us run past them, mouths agape.
A dog spots us, and tries to lick Spider, and I just shake my head.
"Hey, hey, buddy. Sorry, no time to play. Here, go fetch." He throws the ball, the dog runs away, and we begin to run as well.
He starts to swing through the neighborhood, while I jog, trying to keep up with him.
"And this is why I need to pay attention in P.E," I mutter to myself, pissed, but I watch in shock, then laughter, as he glides into a yard and falls straight into a poor, unsuspecting home. A couple seconds and a few awkward banging noises later, he merges from the back door, runs through the yard, and slams through the fence.
You know what, screw it. Trying again, I launch myself into the air, and smile.
Flying above the webbed hero, I try to contain my laughter as he rolls onto a car and gets tangled through a soccer net. Looking up at me, he rolls his eyes.
"I thought you said you couldn't fly!"
"And I thought you were smart!"
Running through another backyard, he waves at a man barbecuing.
" Smells really good!" I dip down and wave as well, smiling.
"I would tell you, but I'm vegetarian!" Flying away, I groan as my superhero teammate crashes a pool party.
He continues to also crash a sleepover, and I rub my forehead.
"Ugh... Oh, hey, guys."
The kids in the tent pause.
"AHHHHHHH!" The tent flips over as the girls attempt to get out, and I sigh.
"Let's go!" He nods, and we begin to run, trying to catch up to the van.
|Hi guys! This chapter was actually quite fun to write, as it's one of the chapters in which I got to incorporate Nova into a scene from Homecoming. I hope you guys enjoy it as well!|
