Chapter 17

Chapter 17:

Hindi ako nakatiis ng isang oras sa loob ng hotel room dahil paulit-ulit sa isip ko 'yung mga sinabi ni Jin. Liligawan niya raw si Lily, aagawin niya raw sa akin kung maghihiwalay kami. Sumabay pa 'yung sinabi nito sa akin na nagkagusto siya kay Jin.

If we'll breakup, I think that Jin will be a better man than me.

I already booked a flight to Manila. Gumayak na ako at umalis ng hotel. Nang makarating sa airport, nag-text ako sa mom niya na may emergency akong kailangang puntahan, for formality na rin, bago ako tumawag kay Lily.

"Hello, babe. I told you to sleep," she said.

I heard laughter on the other line. Pati ang ingay ni Lewis ay nangingibabaw sa kabilang linya.

"Where are you?" I asked.

"We're in a boat; on our way to the second island. How are you now?" she asked, worried.

I sighed. "I need to go. I have an emergency to attend to. Nag-text na ako sa Mom mo—"

"Aldrin, don't you dare leave without waiting for me. You told me you'll wait for me!"

I gulped as I felt my heart beating wildly. Why is she so stubborn? Can't she just let me for now? I can't really face her now.

"Twila, I'm sorry but—"

"I said I'm your Lily!" she shouted again. I can hear her sniff and sobs. "What the fuck is your problem?"

The sound of her weak and crying voice softened everything in me. I sighed in disappointments before I talked. "You never told me about your Dad. Why?"

She became quiet. The things that I heard on the other line were the noise from people she's with and her sobs. She's still crying. She might be crying more now.

"I'm sorry, but c-can you wait for me? I'll explain e-everything," she said in between her sobs.

I sighed as I felt the heat on the corner of my eyes. "Can we not... talk muna? For a while? I don't really know how to face you. You can enjoy your trip for now. Don't mind me. I'll be fine—"

"Aldrin!" she shouted, her sobs became clearer. "Aldrin, please... wait for me."

I sighed again. "Please enjoy your trip, baby," I gulped. "I'm sorry."

After that, I ended the call. I wiped the tears on the corner of my eyes. I shouldn't be crying right now; I've never cried because of woman in the past but it was the second time that Lily made me do that.

I hate this.

I waited for my flight to be called for an hour. I followed the instructions for the boarding, until I'm already inside the plane. I decided to sleep for a one hour and 20 minute ride, since I have nothing to do for those hours.

As I closed my eyes, I imagined Lily crying while talking to me over the phone. She should be enjoying her time on her trip, not crying over this thing. I told her to enjoy this trip and not mind me. I shouldn't have told her that I'm leaving so that she won't cry.

I sighed.

When the plane landed, I waited for the other passengers to finally go out of the plane as I followed them. The flight attendants were smiling sweet at every passengers that passed.

If I don't have Lily now, I might have a flight attendant in bed with me, moaning my name, after all of these plane and flight shits. But right now, I can't imagine that anymore because all I want right now is Lily.
