Chapter 23:

After Lily treated my wounds with the first aid kit, we came back to the party. It was almost done; the only difference is that, Terrence is here. He's already with Belle and the party's almost over after they saw how furious I am.

Damn. What a party pooper I am, indeed.

I told them that I was sorry for being the way I am earlier that they had to wrapped up the party but they were all smiling and being kind towards me.

"Okay lang! P'wede naman ituloy bukas," they said, laughing.

"True! Pagod ka rin Kuya so we understand!" Jia said, smiling. "Kami rin, so magpapahinga na kami!"

Tumango ako at inihatid na sila sa guest rooms kung saan sila matutulog habang ang mga kaibigan ko, naiwan sa garden, nagtatawanan at nagku-kwentuhan. I saw Lily laughing beside Grace. Grace is teasing her about something.

"I bet she treated your wound," Grace said with a smirk on her face as I saw her beside Lily.

"Yes, and?"

"Where did she treat you? On your fist? Or on you—"

"Oh my God, Grace, we really didn't do that!" Lily said, laughing, with her face now red.

"Kidding!" Grace laughed. "Damn, I missed the feeling."

Jin laughed. "Balikan mo na kasi, Connor!" pang-aasar niya.

"Yuck, no way!" Grace laughed before drinking her Tequila.

Lily continued chatting with the girls, Belle and Grace while us, boys, have our own topics too.

"Itutuloy mo na sa law, pare?" Terrence asked.

Tumango ako. "Ikaw? Kuha ka ng master's degree?"

He drank from his shot glass. "Yeah. I'd apply for a company too para makaipon kami ni Belle at makapagtayo ng business namin."

Tumango ako. Sa aming lahat, si Terrence talaga ang may malinaw na vision sa future niya. Kami kasing tatlo nila Connor at Jin, madalas, nilalaro pa namin ang mga buhay namin. Terrence might be the dorkiest out of the four of us but he's the most serious when it comes to life.

I looked outside and saw that there's no sign of Mom and the senator anymore. I wonder where they went. Will she be fine? I hope so. I need to trust her since she said that she can handle it.

When we finished drinking a bottle of Tequila and beer, they've decided to go home already since they have no place to stay. Lily also went home since she wanted to give me alone time with my Mom. Even though I wanted her under my sheet tonight, I let her go.

I took a bath and changed my clothes. I waited for my mom to arrive but it took me long enough to finally saw her coming out of the limousine. I watched her enter the gate and she looks fine.

She really seemed fine. What the fuck happened and what did the senator told her?

I'm starting to get furious again as I turned my hands into fist but I looked on the brighter side; after six years, Mom doesn't have panic attacks.

But did she have a panic attack while she's with him? She doesn't look like she had.

She stopped walking when she saw me on the front porch, waiting for her. She looked at me, staring directly at my eyes. Later on, she smiled.

"You don't have to worry that much about me, son," she sniffed as her tears pooled on the corner of my eyes. "I didn't leave you for the whole six years, alone, only to be the same mother that I was."
