Chapter 20:

I had to calm myself first before I drive to the condo. I've never cried so hard for the past years and this is the first in my college years.

Damn.

When I parked my car in the underground parking lot, I quickly went to ride the elevator. It took me longer than I've expected. Baka gising na si Lily. I checked my phone for the first time since I left the unit a while ago and I saw numerous texts and calls from Lily. I didn't bother reading all of it since I already arrived on the right floor.

I immediately ran to the unit. I opened the door and saw my friends playing on the living room. They must be playing Mobile Legends by now. I ignored them and went to my room.

The moment I opened the door, Lily ran to me, crying. I was so taken aback that it took me seconds before I could lock the door and hug her back.

"Bakit ka umiiyak?" I asked.

She shook her head. "I was just scared and anxious. Akala ko iniwan mo na naman ako."

I chuckled as we walked to my bed without breaking from the hug. "Bakit naman kita iiwanan? Nandito ka nga sa unit namin, eh."

She shook her head again as I sat on the edge of my bed. Her legs are spread apart so that she can sit on my lap properly. I pulled her closer to me. She's still crying on my chest while her arms are wrapped around my nape.

"I'm just being stupid, I know. But I'm really scared the moment I woke up and you're not here. Akala ko umalis ka na naman, eh," she sobbed.

I laughed. "Ano bang sinabi ni Connor sa 'yo?"

"Hindi ka raw niya nakitang lumabas. Baka raw madaling-araw ka umalis," she cried again as she hugged me tighter. "But I still waited for you because I trust you now more than I ever did."

Tang ina talagang Connor 'yon, pag-aawayin pa kami. Kababati nga lang namin, eh.

"I'm sorry. I just had to go to someone's place."

She moved away to face me. I wiped her tears with my one hand.

"Saan?" she asked.

I kissed her lips before I answered her. "Senator's mansion."

She gulped. "Your dad?" I nodded. "Anong ginawa mo ro'n?"

I shrugged. "I break his things with connection to me," I chuckled; she didn't believe me. "I seriously did."

"Bakit mo naman ginawa 'yun? Throwing your tantrums?" she chuckled.

She looked at ease now. She finally stopped crying.

"I ended everything. I told him that I don't want to relive the hate I have for him, and I no longer care about the other politicians and the family of the politicians. I just told him that... I stopped all these childishness that his son is doing," I claimed her lips for few seconds before I continued talking. "He'll be the last person I'm going to throw hate, and I stopped all of it a while ago. I ended the feud and ended everything between us."

Her eyes watered; maybe she realized what I truly did.

"I let go of the past. I will no longer hold the anger I had before. I will no longer care if you're a politician's daughter or not. I will no longer care about the politicians and their corruptions. I'll just be a good lawyer so that I can fight with them on my own."

I smiled and kissed her for few seconds again.

"So don't worry about you, being the daughter of your governor father anymore, okay? I don't care where you came from and who your parents are. As long as it's you that I want to hold this close, I will not care anything about that anymore. It's you, right now, which matters to me the most."
