Chapter 22: The Attack

Arcadia chapter 22

Loud thunder roars over the skies of Arcadia and Asgard. The dark clouds came from almost no where. Rain beat the roof tops of every building. "Listen up! Too many of our men have been taken! Too many of our people tortured and tormented at the hands of my brother." "We cannot afford to lose any more people or we WILL fall at the hands of Abaddon and the demons of Asgard." Gabriel stands high over Arcadia on its tallest tower shouting to every last one of his faithful followers.

"Our army has grown weak! But, I have sent spies into Asgard. No one knows who they are but they have in fact brought me some valuable information." "Our very own healer Casper's daughter Eden is infact Alive! And she is bearing twins. One of which is my brothers and one of which is another's." "We have to capture Eden and bring her back here to Arcadia. She will birth the Heir here which will draw Abaddon and possibly my trader of a mother here. Gasps can be heard from al around. "Yes! It's true my murderer mother is in fact alive. But worry not, once we have all three of them here we will eliminate them, extinguishing that side of the royal blood line completely." The crowd of supporters cheer loudly.

Back in Asgard Eden sits in front of a mirror admiring her large belly. "Wow I wonder what they will be how they will look."  She thinks to herself. The door to her room creaks open. Foot steps squeaks the floor boards as they get closer. "Its late who is it?" Eden says softly. "It's me Eden." She turns around to see Solomon standing near the door. Eden scrunches her face it had been about 5 months since they had saw each other.

"What are you doing here?" She says coldly. "I came to see you and our baby. I want to be a part of it's life." Solomon lowers his eyes and stares at Edens huge stomach. "Is it twins?" "One is Don's.." Solomons eyes widen. "I'll Kill him!" He says as his anger rages. Eden walks up to Solomon and looks up in his eyes. He softens up "can you forgive me Eden?" Eden silently clenches her fingers into a fist  and draws back and punches Solomon square in the face. In reflex he pushes her and Eden falls backwards onto the ground. "Ow" Eden cries while grabbing her stomach.

"I'm sorry Eden!" She glares at him. "I didn't mean to hit you it was a reflex." Solomon kneels down and puts his hand on Edens back she looks up at him and their eyes meet. The moment freezes and they know their love is still strong for each other. Solomon rubs Edens cheek with his thumb.

Just then the door flies open and a loud thud sounds through the room. Pain and anger explodes through Solomon's head. He stumbles to his feet to see Don standing behind him. Solomon turns around and throws his fist at Don but don slides back and it misses. They begin to fight. Letting out all of the piled up anger and resentment they've held in these past months.  Eden pulls herself to her feet still in pain and utter shock at the two men fighting.

Solomon punches Don in the gut and then again in his face. Blood trickles from Dons mouth as he tries to pull himself back up to his feet. Eden backs away toward the door. Solomon looks at her and she looks at him. Don scrambles to his feet and knees Solomon in his stomach. Solomon coughs up blood and Don bashes him in the head again sending him to the ground. Solomon continues to cough and heave. Don grips Solomon by the throat and slams him up against the wall. He squeezes Solomon's throat tighter and tighter. Solomon grabs Dons hand trying to pry it off his throat while gasping for air.

"Ow OW" Eden cries. "Oh no" a splashing sound crackles against the floor and Don snaps his head in Edens direction releasing his grip on Solomon's neck. Solomon gasps for air as he pushes Don to the side and stumbles over to Eden. "My water broke" she says softly. " The babies are coming." Don hurries over to Eden, "Let me help you." Don reaches a hand out and touches Edens arm. She jumps and he pulls it away. Eden hadn't been comfortable with Don since the incident. "She's still afraid of me." He thinks to himself. "Please Eden let ME help you." Solomon pleads.

"No I don't want help from either of you, look at yourselves. Why are you guys even fighting each other?"  The room fills with silence before the sound of hurried and heavy footsteps in the hallway grasps everyone's attention. Solomon walks up to the door and his eyes widen. "It's an attack!" He yells. "Eden get behind me." Don yells. Eden backs away and seven men from Gabriel's army burst through the door. "We are here for Eden! And we will kill any one we have to in order to get her." Micah says. "Micah are you serious?" Don asks, a chuckle slipping out of his mouth. Micah straightens his face. And looks at Eden. His eyes gleam At her in a questioning manner.

"Are you Eden? I heard you looked delicious I wonder if you taste delicious." He says slyly. Solomon's anger rises and he steps in front of Eden pushing her softly behind him. One of the other soldiers chuckles. "Don't look at her." He says angrily. "Or wha.." Micah flies back into the other men. Solomon breathes heavily as his wings grow and stretch out of his back. His eyes lower and turn jet black. "Ow" Eden says under her breath while clenching he stomach. Don looks at her.

Micah gets back up and flies at Solomon and fighting ensues. Micah and three other men attack Solomon and the other three attack Don. "Run Eden!" Don yells.  "But I can't leave you guys here." Solomon punches Micah again and then one of the soldiers jumps on his back. "RUN!" Solomon yells. "Owwww!" Eden screams. A force of energy jolts through the air and everyone in the room can feel it. "Edens eyes go dark almost to a swamp like green."

Her skin glows almost to a red hue. She backs up towards the door and raises her hand, air sways around Eden. It's tornado like. The wind disrupts the fighting. Everyone in the room looks at her in awe. "Eden." Don says stepping forward . "Your bleeding heavily. You need to calm down." She begins to scream and fire shoots out of her finger tips. She waves her hand up and then towards the soldiers. And fire and wind blast the soldiers back. Bones can be heard cracking and snapping.

Eden twists and turns her hands, with every move more cracking can be heard. The soldiers begin to scream in agony. Solomon reaches out to touch Eden but her body is as hot as a furnace. "OWWWWW!" She screams another intense contraction sends her to her knees. She drops down into a pool of blood. Her eyes still dark. Don gets down on the floor next to her. "Eden tell me is the babies coming now?" He asks softly  Eden breathes heavily and Solomon gets down on the floor as well. "Please Eden let us help you." He says softly. "Be..hind..you" she says  gasping for air.

Micah runs at them with a long blade. Solomon and Don jump out the way and Micah crashes towards Eden sending the blade right through the left side of her chest. He looks down at his hands on the knife and looks up at Edens eyes. She looks back at him with panic written on her face. She begins hyperventilating. Don and Solomon both grab up Micah and begin to beat him bloody. They punch him over and over until he is unconscious. Don turns towards the door. It's wide open. "Oh no Solomon, Edens gone." He says running out the door.
