Chapter 21: Back to Reality

Screams can be heard from down the stairs. Dawn shudders as she walks up the tower stairs to where Abaddon is holding the angel prisoners. "Don Eden is very ill she needs to see a doctor or she will get worse." He rolls his eyes at Dawns interruption, he walks up to her and grabs her by the throat slamming her on to the wall. She flinches at his swift movements, the concrete wall hits Dawns back sharply and she frowns at the pain. "Why are you disturbing me?" Don growls.

"B..b..because Eden is sick?" She stammers. "I don't want to hear about her or that betrayer Solomon. You handle it!" He says sternly "And while your playing cell keeper find time to sit on this, cause if you dont produce an heir soon im divorcing you and sending you back to the dirty ass mines with your worthless father." He says coldly. She widens her eyes in anger but doesn't talk back, she grits her teeth and he lets go of her.

She grabs for her neck caressing away the pain of his tight grip. "Take this with you when you go." Don chuckles as he swings his sword and slices the angel he's torturing head right off. Dawn jumps back, he picks the head up off the floor and hands it to Dawn. She winces at the horrid sight hanging from her hands. She carries the head out of the tower and begins to vomit at the sight as soon as she gets in the stairway. She drops the head in front of the entrance and heads down to the mines to get Milan the doctor.

Back in the dungeon, Eden is throwing up again, her dehydration is had reaches extreme levels. All Solomon does is watch her, she doesn't want him to touch or talk to her. Solomon shuffles his feet. Eden continues to retch and cough up the contents of her stomach. "Please Eden let me help you sweetheart." "No!" "I dont want anything from you. You really hurt me and I could never trust you again" Eden says angrily.  "Ow" she clenches her stomach and screams in pain, tears streaming down her face.

Solomon looks at Eden shocked. Her eyes start burning as red as fire, steam raising off of the top of her head.  She lets out another scream and the ground begins to shake. Solomon stands up and steps closer. "Eden let me help you" he pleads. She backs up shaking her head. Upstairs the tower shakes and this startles Don. He drops his eye brows angrily. "What is causing this commotion?!" He demands.

"Son, Eden is very sick. She's pregnant. And the baby could be yours." Lilith says sternly to don. He raises his eyes at his mother in disbelief. "How could the baby be mine mother? Ive never been with Eden a day in my life!" "Son have you forgotten your horrendous acts over the last few months? Or has them drugs eaten your brain that bad?" Lilith says arrogantly. Don tries to focused his mind, its been everywhere dark since he dosed his brain with those drugs. It's like someone else has been controlling him.

Then flashes  of him on Eden and her crying begging him to stop burst in his head and he drops to his knees at the horrible sight. "Mother how could I?" He says horrified. "A fit of rage" she replies keeping her face solid. "It was horrendous and disgraceful. But you may have a child out of it now. That woman is in the dungeon incredibly sick, maybe because the demon blood of the baby is killing her or maybe another reason but you need to take responsibility and be a KING dammit. I fought too hard for you to be a king for you to piss the honor of this family away being a treacherous leader?" Lilith slaps her son and he shrinks within himself."Mother what am I to do?" "Be a man!" She says, the words rolling off her tongue like ice hitting the streets in a winter storm.

Back in the dungeon Eden continues to scream. Dawn and Milan rush in. "Sol whats happening?" Dawn says softly. He looks at her and they meet eyes for a moment. "I dont know, its like she cannot hear me. It looks as though she is possessed." Eden stands up with her head leaned back almost ghostly. Her eyes are pure white, Solomon backs up with fear. "Eden it's me Dawn." She shoots a demonic look at Dawn and Dawn takes a few steps back.

"Hello Eden, My name is Milan. I am from the mines and Ive studied medicine and healing my entire life." Milan says softly keeping calm. Eden breathes heavily. "Theres blood" Solomon says lowly. Everyone looks down at the blood trickling down Edens legs. Milan rushes over to her without hesitation and Solomon backs up. "Hi Eden would you lie down for me please? I want to check on you. " Eden submits and lays down still breathing heavily.

"Is she okay?" Dawn and Solomon both ask simultaneously. "Can you leave?" Eden says sternly. "do you really want me to go Eden ?" Solomon asks regretfully. "Yes I dont want to be around you I dont want anything to do with you any more." Solomon grows angry. "Fine! Ill go, Dawn would you please put me in another cell?." Solomon says spitefully.
Tears well up in Edens eyes as Dawn unlocks Solomons Shackles. She lets out a roar only a demon could roar even though Eden was not part demon. It shook the entire kingdom.

Dawn and Solomon hurry out the room and into another cell. "Solomon you'll be safer here" Dawn says rubbing a hand over his face. He pushes her hand off ."Dawn we can't be a thing. We really hurt Eden, I love her." "But why can't you love me? Back in Arcadia we used to always hang out Sol, I want what we had in Arcadia Back!" "I dont know about this Dawn" "it'll be our secret!" "Solomon lowers his face and Dawn lifts it softly. I love you Sol." She says softly and kisses his lips.

"Just as I suspected." Abaddon says startling them both. "Oh Don its not what it looks like." Dawn stutters. Solomon doesnt look at Don . "And you, you're the worst trader of them all." Don says disgusted. He closes the gates with Solomon and Dawn in the cell. "Now you'll both rot in here." Back in the other cell Milan does a series of tests on Eden. Edens breathing slows a bit. Don walks in quietly and Eden looks at him and then looks away.

"How is she Mila?" He says stiffly. Milan rolls her eyes at him. "Stop calling me that" she says. "Whats wrong with me?" Eden whimpers. "Your pregnant Eden." Dons eyes stretch, he bites his tongue. "I know but what is wrong with the baby?" "Well..um I dont know how to say this Eden but I heard two heart beats." Edens eyes widen. "How can this be? "I knew I was pregnant  for a while. But not with twins." Eden says wearily.

" yes you see one baby was created on a later conception date. " Eden and Abaddon lock eyes. He twists his face up and Milan stares at him.One of the tears in Edens eye actually streams down her face. "One fetus is taking the nutrients from the other and so the other fetus that is losing the nutrients is taking them from you Eden. One of the Fetuses has the royal blood line, the mark of the carrier is burned on your spine and that only happens to someone when they are carrying a descendant of the royal bloodline."

"Thank you Mila please return to your duties in the mines I'll call on you really soon. Don says hurriedly. Milan leaves and rushes out. Not even noticing Solomon or Dawn in the cell by the exit.  Don sits down next to Eden. "Eden I know no amount of apologizing could make up for the horrible things Ive done to you. I havent been in my right mind I honestly feel like I haven't been in control of myself and I truly am so deeply sorry for ever hurting you.

Truth is I still love you I know you could never love me back again. But I want to take care of you and our child. And I will love your other child like its mine." He says genuinely. She looks up at him her eyes lingering somewhere between white and grey fading back into their ocean blue shade. "You mean that donny?" "On my life I mean it forever." He says. "Okay" she sighs, exhausted from her pains. Don lifts Eden into his arms, she shutters from fear of him.

He frowns and pushes her head against his chest to rest. He carries her out of the dungeon and Solomon and Dawn stare with their heads against the gate. "Eden! Dont go with him! EDEN ! YOU HEAR ME I SAID GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Solomon yells. Don stops in front of their cell. Eden turns to look at Solomon with hurt written all over her face. "Good bye Solomon". She says sadly. Don takes her out of the dungeon and up the stairs. He lays her in a bed. "I'll be back soon." He says before exiting the room and locking the door behind him.
