When we collide (Book 1)

Medically speaking

        After hearing Bruce and Tony tell her her body was mutating, Catherine felt confused and scared and ran out of the medical center. She ran past the hallway and the living room where Peter, Thor and Loki were still waiting for some news on the new girl.

"Catherine wait what's the matter?!" Peter asks the brunette has she runs pass them.

"I'm sorry Pete, I have to go! It was nice to meet you guys!" She shouts out. Teary eyes, she keeps on going towards the exit sign for the stairs. She aggressively pushes the door open and runs down the stairs. Loki seemed to actually wonder what it was that made the woman so out of sorts. A few seconds later, Natasha and Steve walk into the living room, seemingly worried, and ask if they've seen Catherine come by here.

"She ran down the stairs over here. What happened over there? Is something wrong with your lady friend?" Thor asks curiously. Steve looks towards the three confused guys standing in the living room.

"Tony will explain. We have to go find her now! Stay here in case she decides to come back alright". Peter raises his hand towards his head and salutes Steve.

"Yes captain!"

"My gods, at ease spiderkid." Says Loki in an annoyed tone of voice as he sits back down.

        Steve and Natasha manage to reach the brunette right before she reaches the main lobby.

"Wait Catherine please! Come with us we can help you!" Shouts Steve desperately to the woman.

"Oh so you know how I can go back to normal? You can tell me I won't be turning into a big angry green giant?!"
Catherine replies to the Captain her eyes swollen and red.

"Oh sweetie, I understand you're upset. you're hurt and you're scared but we're here for you and we'll figure something out. We can help you. Let us, let Bruce help you. Please, just come back up with us." Natasha pleads to the woman.

"Look it doesn't mean that you'll turn into anything else! You're DNA is changing according to them. That doesn't necessarily mean that anything actually will happen!" Steve approaches Catherine with his hands out signaling her to come forward.

"Steve don't. For all we know maybe I'm dangerous! What if I'm a threat? Could you two promise me to handle me if bad things happen? I cannot have that on my conscience.."

"Hey hey wait up. We're nowhere near talking about anything bad happening alright?! Let us take you back. Bruce will run more tests and we can figure things out once we have answers ok?" Natasha forces a hug on her which surprisingly makes Catherine calmer even as a few tears run down her face. Nat wipes up her cheeks and turns to her side so they can walk back upstairs together.

       In the meantime Tony had reached the boys who were standing around the living room absolutely clueless about the whole situation.

"Mind telling us why you and the green guy had to scare the new girl away Stark?" Loki asks as he stands up and walks towards Tony.

"Well it seems that the tests we ran on her found a few anomalies. Her body is apparently mutating. Its in a constant state of change due to exposure to gamma and ultra violet radiation. We're not exactly sure what's happening yet. Only time and more testing will clear us up." Tony removes his glasses and pinches the bridge of nose as he squints his eyes. He's genuinely concerned about Catherines condition.

"Mutating you say?" Loki wonders about the thought. "Mutating as in changing or turning into something? Does she have any powers?"

        Thor looks over to his blueish green eyed brother and ponders the same thought.
