"So what? We just wait it out?" Cate asked the team as she and Loki got back to them in the common area.
Everyone seemed on edge. "Loki filled me in on what happened.""Not much else we can do for now." Steve answered her.
"Once we retrieve the Tesseract, we should bring it to Asgard for protection from Hydra." Thor suggested to the team.
"That's actually a pretty good idea. It'll be out of harm's way."
"I second Nat on that." Clint added as he out a hand on her shoulder.
"Only the two of you can call on the bifrost, right?" Cate asked the two Gods standing beside her. They nodded in agreement to her statement when suddenly Jarvis' voice comes through the compound's intercom.
Mr.Stark, I have found a location with a significant amount of gamma exposure similar to that of the cube. I am sending you the coordinates to your suit Mr.Stark
"The tesseract has to be there. We don't have a minute to waste. Let's get ready." Clint said.
"We should probably expect some sort of technology to control the Tesseract." Natasha added. "Especially with all the heavy machines they stole from the warehouse."
"It's hydra. Of course they're mind controlling tech behind it all." Steve chimed in and Tony agreed. He had started viewing the readings Jarvis had spotted in his glasses. Thor got a little agitated.
"Matters not. We need to stop this before they use the powers of the Tesseract to create more enhanced. They're base will be overwhelmed with soldiers already to defend it."
"So if we know where it is, what are we waiting for?" Loki asked curiously and seemingly frustrated.
"We need a plan. I still cannot reach Banner and Peter's out for the count." Tony said to the team who was all ears waiting on where to go. Natasha stood up from the table she was leaning on and walked over to Cate to wrap an arm around her.
"Maybe we don't need Banner. We've got ourselves a new team member." Cate, who had been listening without saying a word, got excited hearing her friend's words.
"Yes! I can help! I've been training hard, I'm ready, Tony!"
"Yes, warrior princess is in!" Thor yelled out overly excited to have her on the field with them.
"It's her first real field mission." Loki interrupted. "Are we sure she should come along for this?" Listening to Loki's words, Cate felt a tad hurt. She had been training really hard and she manages her powers well enough, she thought.
"Geez, thanks for the vote of confidence, Loki." She had told him bitterly. He walked closer to her and looked straight into her eyes.
"This isn't some recon mission where all you need to retrieve is information."
"Yes, Loki. I am well aware of that but I'm ready. I want to fight alongside the team. Am I an avenger or not!?" She stood ground to Loki's statement and glanced at everybody waiting to see if anyone else agreed with him. Thor immediately defended the brunette.
"She's right, brother. She's ready." Tony pressed a button on his glasses and looked straight to Cate with a very serious expression.
"Yes she is. I agree and that's why you're ready for your surprise tonight, kiddo." Cate and everyone else seemed curious about what Tony said. They all looked at him confused.
"My surprise?" She asked with a smirk on her lips.
"I finished your suit with Bruce last week. We were waiting for the right time to give it to you. I guess today's that time." He winked at her and she bounced with joy which made everyone smile.
