18: Cry

It had been two days since Idge had found out the truth. It had been two days since her body felt numb. It had been two days since she decided to lock herself... again.

"Idge? Kain ka na..." Ingrid asked softly.

   "What?"

Nate shook his head. "Let her be. Pagbubuksan ka niya mamaya."

"But she needs to eat," Ingrid shouted in a hushed voice.

"She will. Trust her with this."

Ingrid averted her gaze, and held his hand tighter.

Ingrid had no other choice but to put her ear on Idge's door from time to time, hoping for a little movement. However, she had failed. Ingrid didn't know how many times she thought of breaking the door, but she wanted to trust her sister.

"Sis... I'm here. We're here," bulong niya, nakatitig sa pinto ng dalaga. "If you can't handle everything, remember us. You don't have to carry everything alone. You don't have to think everything's your fault. it's not. No one wanted those to happen. You never wanted those to happen."

Idge could hear her sister from the outside, but she made no movement. She was just staring at her wall. Head empty. She wasn't crying. She didn't even know how to cry anymore. She knew she's in pain, but she felt nothing.

She's still wearing the same clothes she had since the day she found out the truth. She didn't feel like herself anymore. She felt lifeless.

   "Tara?"

"Are you sure, we're leaving Idge?" nag-aalalang tanong ni Nate.

   "I trust her."

Everyone was worried to those two, but they couldn't do anything but wait for them to heal. They needed to wait until they wake up.

"Ingrid, Nate," salubong ng magulang ni Kaiden.

Ingrid stared at Nate's mother, remembering her sister. She knew her sister wasn't at fault. However, she also knew the way Idge think, and she couldn't blame her for that.

   She sighed. "Tita, how's Kaiden?"

Nate who was behind her became attentive when his mother's eyes well up. He removed his hands on Ingrid's waist, and positioned himself in front of her.

   "He's awake."

Idge was definitely lost. The moment she came face to face with the truth, a single tear didn't even dropped from her eyes. She ran away, and left Trisha, thinking that's what she's good at.

She didn't even cry because all she felt was numbness. It was like a rock had taken over her heart that she didn't know what to feel anymore.
