"Are you sure neither of you want to just crash here for tonight?" Mallix asked as he stood in the living room with Aaron and James in front of him as they gathering their belongings.

"Thanks, but no thanks. I've got somewhere I need to be tonight." Aaron excused as he checked his watch. Seeing that it was already after eight and with the moon in the sky it was time for him to leave.

"James?" The man asked his brother.

"No can do either. It's been nice getting to see you all again, but I have more Bloodlet's that need my attention back at the Academy."

"Alright then. Well it was nice getting to catch up." Mallix held the door as his brother and friend stepped out into the dead of night.

One they were outside of the front door, standing guard was the couples personal bodyguards. They were so focused on keeping a watch on the neighborhood that surrounded them, they didn't even flinch when the door between them opened and out stepped all of the men.

Acting as if they were alone, Mallix shook hands with Aaron who held his briefcase and coat in his other arm. After wishing his friend a farewell, Aaron took to the night as one of the body guards escorted him off of the property and over towards the large gate to let him out.

Leaving the brothers all alone at the front door with only one guard at their side, James looked to the guard as he cleared his throat. "Do you mind giving us some space man? I need to talk to my brother about something important."

Before even considering leaving his post, the guard at the door turned to Mallix who simply nodded in approval even though he was completely lost as to what James was getting at.

"I'll be back in ten." The guard said before excusing himself to assist the other who was taking Aaron down their long driveway and over to the gate.

Finally with nobody else around, James turned to Mallix after checking to make sure that the coast was clear.

"Are you going to tell me what's so important now that you had to sent away my guard for?" He raised a curious brow.

"Yeah. I was just going to ask if you were going to be alright?" James whispered.

"Of course I'll be. Why do you ask?" Mallix put his hands on his hips.

"Because I can see the way you looked at Faye." James hummed as his brother grew flushed at the comment. "See what I mean?!" James cracked a laugh as Mallix pushed him back with a playful nudge.

"Whatever. What are you trying to get at here? I just enjoy her company is all."

"Mhm. During dinner you refused to let her cut up her own fish, and then when she didn't finish all the greens on her plate you made her finish them before she could leave."

"Hey!" Mallix protested. "That's because I was worried she'd cut herself if she did it on her own, and she needs those greens. Do you see how small she is?!"

Chuckling as he calmed his brother down, James just smiled. "I think you're just eager to ask her to join your family."

"I am not."

"Why're you playing the tough guy Mallix? It's just you and me here." James wiggled his eyebrows as the flushed look on Mallix became more apparent. "We both know that you are more than excited to start your own family. You've been talking about this for like the past few years now." James said before Mallix suddenly shushed him.

"Keep your voice down James! She could hear you!" He panicked.

"I still don't understand why you're so against letting Lain know how excited you are to be a dad."
