"It's your heart." Lain said much to Faye's confusion. "It's warm and kind. I could feel the energy you gave off the minute I stepped into the same room as you. The classroom at Rodwood may have been cold, but Faye it had never been more warm with you around."

Keeping her grip on Faye's hands firm, Lain gave the girl a reassuring smile. "It's why I picked you. I could tell that your heart was pure. It wasn't tainted by greed or pride that most Bloodlet's carry on from their human lives. You're different."

Faye was hesitant to look at Lain.

"What does my heart have to do with you though?" She said behind a whiny grumble.

"I think we should tell her babe." Mallix stated from behind Faye as the girl noticed Lain's face immediately change. Her soft eyes looked terrified and her natural sun kissed skin looked pale.

From her grip, Faye could even feel Lain shaking slightly.

It was almost like she had just seen a ghost.

"I don't think she's ready for the truth just yet."

"What truth?" Faye was intrigued. "Tell me." She demanded.

As Mallix parted his lips to take in some air before explaining his side of the story, Lain rushed out of Faye's grip and ran in front of her husband.

"Mallix now is not the time." She repeated.

"Why not?" He said defensively. "Look at her babe, she's not going to even consider what we have to say if we keep her out of the loop for any longer. At least if we do this now she'll have the rest of the time before her final to decide whether or not she wants to do it."

"Do what? What loop? What're you guys talking about?!" Faye said louder than before as more tears fell. However, these were not ones of sadness, but of frustration. She felt like nobody was even listening to her.

It seemed like she was talking to two brick walls that cornered her in place.

She was exhausted playing guessing games and listening to excuses. She wanted to know what was going on. She wanted to know what Lain was hiding from her.

And she wasn't going to let this opportunity to find out more about them, slip away.

"Either somebody tells me what's really going on here, or I'm leaving. Right now. I don't care if it means I have to go back to that dark place with James. I'd rather stay there any day than with two strangers who are keeping secrets from me that involve me!" She threatened.

"Faye don't do this." Lain turned around begging the girl to rethink her decision.

But after making the final choice himself, Mallix was going to ensure Faye stayed with them for a little while longer. "Lain and I wanted to ask you to be apart of our family." He said bluntly catching both his wife and Faye completely off guard.

"What?!" They both exclaimed giving two very different reactions.

While Lain turned back around raising her veiny hands up towards her husbands throat, she neared him as her long fangs fully extended.

All the while, Faye sat down on her bed, ignoring the arguing happening with the couple as she struggled to process the new information.

"How dare you?!" Lain yelled pinning her husband by the neck against the door to Faye's room.

Even in his predicament, Mallix refused to show any signs of struggle or retaliation. He knew this wasn't his wife. There was no point in struggling, it was only going to make this worst for himself. So, he just stood there helplessly letting his wife strangle his neck til he was purple.
