While Nina dealt with Kaila all morning long crying about the tragic news of her friends, Lain and Mallix were facing a similar situation of their own last night.
Getting Faye to bed was hard enough already, but adding on the additional stress that the sudden change in exam dates caused wasn't helping. Especially when the new date was coming up in only a matter of days.
Faye was beyond panicked. She bawled and cried all night long til her voice was gone and her eyes were puffy.
Thankfully, she wasn't the only one going through such turmoil. Even the couple were having their own fits of worry—even if they didn't show it as much. Keeping straight and reassuring faces, they didn't want to scare the poor girl anymore than she already was.
But the moment they had her down in her own bed for the night, they exploded with emotions. They had done their best to suppress their fear and anxiety for as long as they could, but it finally hit them hard. Without Faye around, the couple let everything they kept boiled inside spill out.
There was no way either of them were going to sleep a single wink until they could figure out some kind of game plan first.
Heading down together to their offices in a hurry, Mallix and Lain were thrilled that James was no longer in the home with them. After the news he broke, they wanted nothing to do with him.
They searched and hunted for hours through their offices for any intact pieces of work that contained knowledge of their law.
They tried to find loopholes that could work around their issue, but unfortunately their law was too well written. Every slight alteration was accounted for and every plan that attempted to overpower their rules had been forbidden.
After several hours had gone by and many cups of coffee were thrown onto their floor, they felt as if they were losing their minds. They had already spent so much time and effort into this hunt and so far they had nothing to prove for it.
They both spent hours sitting at their newly beaten up desks. Splatters of blood that had been left over from their last werewolf encounter were decorating them with color. Their paper work was only partially effected, but they sighed knowing most of it was lost to to the fight.
They talked for hours on end until eventually they couldn't take it any longer. Their weak bodies couldn't handle this pressure.
Trying to recover completely from the damage the werewolves had caused was taking a toll on them already. They knew staying up was no longer an option for them, and yet they stuck by their decision.
Faye was worth the effort.
That was until they both passed out in their office spaces that was currently conjoined by a pull away wall.
Lain had her head laid flat on her desk as she was frozen in a state only inches away to grab her, cold, seventh cup of coffee.
Meanwhile, Mallix was slouched back with his arms crossed as the top button on his polo shirt was undone and his hair was mangled by the amount of times he stressfully ran his hands through it.
They were both snoring intensely.
But up alone in her bedroom, Faye finally began to squirm awake. After her long night of crying as she laid with the couple, the girl didn't even notice she had fallen asleep.
She woke up feeling like she was still dreaming. It took her a while to gather her bearings as she looked around tiredly at her surroundings.
She rubbed her puffy eyes as she groggily stepped out of bed making little whimper noises as she trotted out into the hall. As she made her way slowly to the couples room at the end of the floor, she wanted nothing more than to just curl up in bed with them.
