"Mind telling me what we're going to do with a room filled with humans again?" Mallix laid on his bed with his face buried deep into his pillow as Lain stood at her vanity getting ready for bed.

"Nothing. We're not doing anything. We just need to hold them here until I think Faye's ready to learn how to drink from them."

"I thought you were against using live bait though?" Mallix stuttered as he lifted his heavy head off of his pillow with a grunt. "I didn't think you wanted more Bloodlet's inside of the Academy. Especially since there's already a growing population of younger ones. These kids would just be added to that collection."

"Who said anything about keeping them around to join us?" She turned around with a devilish smirk.

Mallix couldn't help but chuckle back at her antics. "So what then? You're going to show her how to kill somebody by draining them? Cause as much as I despise humans, I don't want their blood on Faye's hands. She's still a baby compared to us."

"Got a better idea?" Lain threw her hands on her hips. "Cause like you said I don't want more Bloodlet's, but I also don't want to keep these teens locked away forever. They've already seen us change, so we can't just let them go. If they turn into Bloodlet's then they'll tell everyone we held them against their will before we forced them into this life. But staying locked up for an eternity isn't a way to live either. We'd be doing them a favor by just taking them out now."

Mallix sighed as he sat up feeling lightheaded as the blood he had consumed earlier was affected him harder than he had anticipated.

Not to mention, his massive headache combined with the teens constant screaming and banging on their bedroom door felt like a constant pounding in his head. "Can we at least give them something so they shut up?! I don't know how much more I can take of this! Why didn't we just leave them outside?!"

"They're humans. They'll freeze if we leave them outside in this weather and then their blood will be tainted. We won't be able to use them then."

"Ugh! Then can we just make them stop!" Mallix growled with frustration as he pounded his own head with his fists trying to ease the pain caused by those intruders.

"I swear babe, sometimes I wonder if you're even ready to start a family. If you can barely handle some measly human screams, then imagine how your heads going to be feeling if Faye agrees to do this with us after her test." Lain playfully remarked as she tried to get her husbands mind off of harming the teens that were annoying her as well.

Breathing heavily to himself as he tried to calm the pounding inside his head, Mallix eventually looked up to his wife who was now standing at the edge of their bed. "That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about earlier." He said through his teeth.

"What? About starting a family?" She raised an eyebrow. Lain had only been joking about her previous statement about his headache. And considering Mallix never liked talking about starting their family yet, she was surprised he brought it up instead of brushing past it like normal.

And yet despite her thoughts Mallix nodded as he grabbed her hands from in front of him as his blue eyes fell into hers. With his head still slightly gone due to his bad blood bag, Mallix coughed to make room for air to pass through his throat. "James says that he thinks we're ready."

"He does?!" Lain said somewhat surprised.

Lain knew Mallix didn't enjoy talking about family, but it was even more shocking to find out that James had been talking about it as well.

For a man who never once spoke about settling down with someone, she was surprised to hear his input on the matter.

"He said we aren't getting any younger here." Mallix gave a small grin.
