"Y-you want to try blood?" Faye got caught up in Mallix's simple question.

Even though she nodded, she knew something was up the instant both Lain and Aaron froze in their own tracks just staring at the girl in disbelief.

"What'd I miss?" James chuckled as he reentered the room seeing all of their surprised looks.

"Faye wants to try human blood." His brother filled him in.

And from her spot, Faye could see James looking at her in a surprised way too.

"What's wrong with it?" She asked with a frown. She didn't want to upset anybody.

"Nothings wrong with it. It's just...well..." Lain tried as she kept glancing towards her husband for some help but he just stared at Faye with his jaw dropped. "Why don't you come here?" Lain looked to the spot besides her, knowing she wouldn't be able to pat it.

After Faye slowly made her way over with all eyes on her, Lain cleared her throat. "You remember how that Growler's blood tasted?"

Faye nodded as she continued pressing on the squishy bag of blood in her hands. "It was kinda gross." She scrunched her face up.

"Well you don't have to worry again. This isn't anything like that. Growler blood is bitter, but humans have a nice sweet taste to them. And it can be addicting at times." She couldn't help but give her husband a playful glare.

"Once you start drinking human blood, you can't stop. Usually Bloodlet's like yourself don't start drinking until a year after they've passed their final."

"Why a year?" Faye asked curiously.

"Well after so long, without any new blood in your system it can start to drive you insane. Usually a year is getting close to that point, so we don't let it go any further than that. Besides you'll get to live a year as a vampire without having to deal with the dying thirst that this will give you for more." She looked down at the blood bag still in the girls hands.

"Which is why I think you should wait a little longer before you drink any of that." Mallix suggested.

"Really? I mean the girls already drunk straight from the neck of a Growler. I don't know how she couldn't be ready to handle something like human blood. It's not like she can't drink it already, she can, it's just not what we normally do." His brother shrugged in disagreement.

"I don't think you should have it either Faye." Lain said.

"Do whatever you want kid. But if you get sick from it, don't wait until you feel lightheaded before calling me. Mallix has done that on several occasion." Aaron said before he whined when Mallix shot up across the bed, punching the man right in his manhood. "Ow!"

"Several occasions?" Faye tilted her head as the man settled back down in his spot, letting the pain from his sudden movement die back down.

"Thanks." Mallix groaned as Aaron was still recovering from his own pain wave. "It's nothing." The man shrugged off.

But Faye instantly disregarded his statement. It was obvious he was holding back. She turned towards the three others in the room looking for any answers.

"It's nothing Faye, Mallix just likes his blood in bulk sometimes." Lain tried to push past this topic for her husbands sake, but Faye's large blue eyes kept staring at her waiting for the 'but' in her statement.

"If she's going to live with you guys, you can't just hide the fact that Mallix goes on a drinking spree every now and then." James sighed as he confessed his brothers bad habit to the girl they hardly knew still.
