As Alex stormed through the early morning back to the Cave after refusing the doctors help, he couldn't even step without feeling pain all throughout his body. While it was much less now than before, the pain was still very much apparent.

He hoped that as the day went on the clench in his muscles disappeared.

But no matter how badly his body hurt, anything was better than the pain he had endured all night long during the doctors failed treatment.

He was thankful to still have a corner of the moon at his side. There were less eyes watching his limp movements with the sun still down. But that didn't change the fact that his walk back was as embarrassing as ever.

The man sighed.

His journey back to the Cave may be a short one, but it was long enough for him to reflect on what he had just done. Alex stared down at his bloody hand covering the wound on his arm that he had caused.

He saw that his blood had covered the entirety of his hand. As it dried it left his hand as a red mess.

His arm was a wreck. His chest felt tense. And his head was going in all kinds of directions as he debated as to what to do next.

On one hand, the doctors serum pained his being so badly it felt like he had died several times over.

But on the other, her serum had worked after all.

The purpose it stood for was achieved.

In the midst of his pain filled night, Alex hadn't felt any pain from the black venom that still resided in his body. He could see hints of the poison through his skin, in his veins, but the pain he once felt from it weren't his concern anymore.

It was greatly shadowed when compared to the serum.

He didn't know which option he preferred more.

Dealing with the muscle tensing vampire toxin on his own or getting help from the doctor with her cell killing serum.

And yet as he debated to himself, Alex soon found himself back within the safety of the Cave just as the rest of the camp started to come alive. With everyone roaming around as normal, he was glad to have been spared from the embarrassment of being seen.

While it was an odd thought for him, while Alex limped down the long dim corridors of the Cave there was one person he was curious to catch up with.

It wasn't Nina and it wasn't Lauren.

It was the small girl Nina had ordered him to keep an eye on before his fatal trip to the city.

He knew with Nina watching her she was in good hands, but apart of him felt inclined to know more.

Making sure the coast was clear, rather than going down the hall to his own room where he could finally rest in peace, Alex instead made his way down another.

Knocking on the small wooden door all the way at the end of the corridor, Alex waited.

"Who's there?" A shaken and timid voice asked.

"It's Alex." He said as calmly as he could. "Can I come in?"

Before he knew it the door in front of him had opened slightly as he caught a glimpse of a sad eye looking back at him. It didn't take long for him to watch her red eye light up with fear.

Slamming the door shut again Alex sighed to himself. He hadn't even considered waiting til he was in a better appearing condition.

Knocking again this time he heard a squeal from behind the door.
