Another update because I felt kinda bad leaving you all hanging like that😂❤️

Jesse's POV

I've been at the hospital all day and it's now the next night. I haven't seen Demi still because her family clearly doesn't want me in her room. They will barely even look at me either and I've been sitting right across her room. I've asked nurses and doctors every time they leave her room for updates and things are the exact same. She's still unconscious and still can't breathe on her own. Bella, Sirah, and Matthew came by today as well as two other people who I know are her sisters because she showed me pictures of them before. They all took turns going into her room, but none of them even looked at me. At around nine pm though, I saw her parents leave her room and I was assuming that somebody else would go in there, but after thirty minutes, nobody did so I stood up and hesitantly walked over to her room. The blinds were still closed so I couldn't see in the window. I took a deep breath before opening the door then walking in. When I look over, I see Demi laying on the bed with a bunch of wires hooked up to her and oxygen hooked up to her. All the wires are to track her heart rate and other vitals as well as brain activity. Her right arm was in a sling, she had cuts and bruises all over her, she was pale, but her chest was moving up and down and that's all that mattered right now. I sat down on the chair next to her bed and hesitantly grabbed her left hand in mine. I brought it up to my mouth and kissed her knuckles softly. I then looked over at the monitors and checked her charts. Everything seemed to be normal considering she's unconscious so I took a deep breath and leaned over the bed with my free hand holding my head up. I kept my eyes on her the whole time, but after a while my eyes started dropping and as badly as I wanted to stay awake, it's been almost two days with no sleep since I worked a twelve hour shift before she even came in here. I gave up trying to stay awake and just rested my head on the side of her bed with her hand still in mine.

"What the hell are you doing in here?" I hear in a raised voice causing me to wake up and I see it's the next morning. I look over to see Sirah and Matthew and I sigh standing up.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to see her and I fell asleep." I say quietly and Sirah rolls her eyes.

"She wouldn't want you in here so leave." She says and I sigh sadly looking down at her. I lick my lips and look back up at her as she raises her brows annoyed.

"Did you know she was pregnant?" I ask quietly and she seems shocked as she bites her lip.

"How'd you find out?" She asks harshly.

"I read her file. It said she lost the baby. I assumed you would know because your her best friend." I say and she takes a deep breath.

"I did know." She says and I look up at her quickly.

"Was she going to tell me?" I ask her not even knowing if I want to hear the answer to this question.

"She was. She just didn't know how. You did cheat on her so she's pretty heartbroken. A baby was the last thing she needed." Matthew speaks up and I sigh and nod.

"I'll leave then." I say quietly as I walk past them and out of her room. I decided that I should probably go home. I got to see Demi, so I need to go home and shower and eat something. It wasn't long until I was back at the hospital though. I had to actually work this time though so I was hoping I may get Demi as part of my rounds since they switch it every shift. When I got to the hospital though, Bryan told me that Demi's family request that I don't become her doctor. I have to admit, that hurt, but I understood. I agreed though and took my first rounds. I didn't really get a chance to check on Demi because I was pretty busy today. When I ran into one of her nurses though, I would ask about her. Nothing progressed though and it was starting to worry me. She should be awake by now. When I finished up my shift late that night I asked Bryan if I could just review her file more closely and he allowed me to thankfully. So, I opened up her file and sat at the reception desk as I also looked at her file online. Most people are awake by now after a collapsed lung repair and are pretty much breathing on their own so I was worried that she still wasn't awake and didn't seem to be progressing at all.
