Demi's POV
After Jesse proposed, he took us to a cute little beach house that he rented out for the weekend and it was absolutely beautiful. We couldn't get enough of each other that weekend either. It was amazing. We were both in such bliss and we decided that we should wait at least a year to get married. I didn't mind waiting either because I knew he was mine at the end of the day. Sunday night though, we had to get back to the real world so we drove back to my place. Bella won't be here til tomorrow though since my mom is going to bring her to school. We had to come back though because we both have work the next morning. Jesse stayed the night at my house and then the next morning, we took a shower together and then we went our separate ways for work. When I got into the diner, I checked in and put my apron on before walking to the front to start my day. Sirah doesn't come in til later today, but when she finally did make it into work, she grabbed me by my wrist and dragged me to the kitchen.
"What?" I ask laughing.
"Let me see!" She says grabbing my left hand and I smile big as she examines the shining diamond ring. "Oh my god! It's gorgeous!" She says and I chuckle and blush lightly.
"What is all the fuss you... oh my god. Demi, that is beautiful." Gail says walking over.
"He did good, huh?" I ask with a smirk and they both nod.
"He did. He's a keeper." Gail says and I smile bigger. "You two need to get back to work though." She then says and we both nod and walk back out to the front. My day went by pretty slow to be honest so when I was finally off, I didn't waste anytime on getting out of there and driving to Bella's school to pick her up. As I'm sitting in the pick up line as it slowly moves forward, I see Bella and Jack talking to each other and laughing. I loved seeing how happy Bella was, but then I started to get a little sad because high school relationships never last. Especially your first one so I know it's going to be absolutely heartbreaking for her if they ever breakup which eventually I'm sure they will. Whether they make it back together or not. She's still going to have to go through heartbreak which would hurt me also. Finally, I make it to the front and they both walk over to the car and Jack opens her door for her.
"Hi Ms. Lovato. I just wanted to apologize about what happened. I didn't mean to upset you and I understand why you were mad. It won't happen again, I promise." He says as Bella gets in the car and I smile at him.
"It's okay Jack. Call me Demi though, okay? I think we can be on first name basis by now." I say and he smiles and nods before bending down to kiss Bella's cheek and then he closes the door and walks away as I pull away. "How was your weekend?" I ask her.
"Good. Yours?" She asks and I can literally hear the smile on her face so I smile and decide to play with her a little bit.
"It was good. It was nice to have a weekend just for Jesse and I with no interruptions. No work, no kids. No offense." I say glancing at her with a chuckle and she shakes her head.
"None taken. So what'd you do?" She asks.
"He took me to dinner and then we spent the weekend at a small beach house and just relaxed." I say smiling.
"That's it?" She asks and I nod. "Oh." She says quietly and I look over at her to see her furrowing her brows as she looks out the window.
"Why? You sound disappointed." I say and she looks at me and shakes her head.
"It's nothing. I just thought you would do more than just relax on a valentines weekend away." She says shrugging.
"Like what?" I ask.
"I don't know." She mumbles and I smile.
"Like proposing?" I ask and she looks over at me quickly at a red light and I laugh at the look on her face.
