Demi's POV

It's been a few days now and Bella is anxiously waiting in the living room with her packed bag for Jack and his parents to come pick her up.

"Please answer your phone if I call or text you. I want you to text me when you wake up and.." I say to her before she cuts me off.

"I know mom. You've told me a million times already. You even have Katherines number so you can always text her too." She says and I nod. I take a deep breath and just then a horn goes off from outside. Bella excitedly squeals as she grabs her bag and rushes outside. I follow her out just as Jack and Katherine walk out of the car. Jack takes Bella's bag and I smile slightly at that.

"Demi go ahead and call me or text me as much as you want. We're moms and we worry so I understand." Katherine says and I nod and smile.

"Okay, just make sure that Bella texts me just to check in. I trust her, but you're right. We do worry." I say and we both chuckle. I then say my goodbyes to Bella before she gets in the car and they drive off. I take a deep breath before walking back into the quiet house. Jesse got called into the hospital super early this morning for an emergency and has been there ever since. I walk upstairs and go into the baby's room deciding that I can do a little preparing. I grab a laundry basket as I pass by and when I get into her room, I go through all her new clothes and take the tags off and throw them in the basket so they can be washed. Soon, Zoe walks into her room and I smile as she starts sniffing everything.

"What do you think about having a baby around?" I ask her and she looks up at me and tilts her head causing me to chuckle. "Are you gonna be good when baby gets here?" I ask and she huffs then lays down with her head in my lap. I smile big as I start petting her. A couple laundry loads later, I hear the front door open from downstairs, but I don't bother moving. Jesse will find me.

"Baby?" He calls.

"In the room." I answer back and soon the door opens. He smiles at me, but that soon turns into annoyance when he sees Zoe laying on the bed next to me.

"She's not supposed to be on the bed." He says walking over to me and I just give him a small cute smile.

"I was lonely. I had no one to cuddle with." I reply tilting my head and he rolls his eyes as he bends down to kiss me.

"You're lucky you're cute." He mumbles and I smile big against his lips. "But she needs to get down. Get down." He says as we pull away and he pats her back. She huffs and I chuckle as she seems to give Jesse a side eye as she jumps down.

"Everything okay at the hospital?" I ask him as he starts undressing and taking his scrubs off.

"Yeah, they were just low staffed and there was a family rushed in that were in critical condition. A car accident." He says and I nod.

"They doing okay?" I ask him and he shrugs.

"As well as they can be. It was pretty bad. Two kids and a mom. I don't know the whole story, or why they were even driving that late, but they were." He answers. "I'm gonna take a quick shower." He then says and I nod as he walks into the bathroom.

"So, you wanna go out tonight?" Jesse asks as he walks out of the bathroom freshly showered with a towel hanging around his waist.

"Not really." I answer quietly as I scroll through my phone.

"Oh. Okay. Uh.. we can do something here then." He replies and I sigh as I look up at him to see him going through his drawers with his back to me.

"I kinda just want to relax and watch movies." I say as I lock my phone and that's when he finally turns to me after pulling a pair of boxers on.

"You don't want to do anything else?" He asks and I shake my head. He furrows his brows slightly but turns back around to grab some sweatpants and he pulls those on also. "Are you okay?" He asks as he gets into the bed.
