Jesse's POV
It's been a couple weeks since Demi was sent home and I've kept myself busy to try and keep my mind off her. Nothing works though and I am constantly thinking about her. That's why I decided to go to her house today. I just needed to see her and I needed to talk to her. I needed to apologize to her. She needs to know that what happened didn't mean anything to me. I had the day off so I got there at around eleven am. I nervously knocked on her door and when it opened, I saw her mom which made me regret coming over.
"Jesse." She says and I nod licking my lips.
"I couldn't help myself and I wanted to see how she was doing." I say nervously and she nods looking in the house then back at me.
"Well lucky you, I need to go run some errands and I need somebody to keep an eye on her. She's sleeping right now so go ahead and come in." She says and I'm honestly surprised, but I don't dare question her because I don't want her to change her mind. She then grabs her purse and leaves so I nervously walk around the lower level. I then go upstairs and I open her bedroom door quietly to check on her. She seemed to be fine so I left her room and went back downstairs. I turned on the TV and put the volume low so it didn't wake her and I watched the sports channel.
"What are you doing here?" I hear her surprisingly soft voice after about an hour causing me to jump not expecting her.
"I um.. just wanted to see how you are. Your mom had to run some errands." I explain as I turn to face her and I look her up and down and that's when I notice she's wearing my shirt and sweatpants that she must still have which honestly made me a little happy.
"Oh." She says quietly and I nod.
"So, how are you?" I ask her and she shrugs.
"Tired. Sore. Emotional." She mumbles and I bite my lip and nod as she sits down on the opposite side of the couch from me. I'm honestly surprised she hasn't kicked me out yet.
"Can I.. can I get you anything?" I ask her after a minute and she shakes her head not looking at me.
"No. I'm fine." She replies and I nod. "I wanted to apologize." She then says after several minutes of total silence and I look over at her like she's crazy.
"What are you apologizing for?" I ask her and she takes a deep breath and finally looks at me with tears in her eyes.
"For not telling you about the baby. I was going to, but I didn't know how and I was honestly in denial myself." She whispers and I take a deep breath and nod.
"I understand why you didn't tell me. You don't need to apologize." I reply looking straight ahead.
"But you found out about the baby after it already died. That wasn't fair to you and I'm sorry." She says and I look back over at her to see a couple tears streaming down her face. I so badly just want to reach over and wipe them away before bringing her in my arms. I have no right to do that anymore though.
"Me cheating on you wasn't fair to you. That's what wasn't fair and I'm a million times sorry for that." I say and she takes a deep breath and wipes her tears away.
"Why did you do it? Why'd you kiss her?" She eventually asks and I take a deep breath.
"We spent the day together because it was Noah's birthday. I invited her to stay for dinner and then we watched old home videos. I got caught up in the old times when we were married and happy and in love. She just kissed me and I couldn't seem to pull away." I tell her looking down at my hands. "There's still no excuse. I own what I did and I know it was wrong. I just hope you can forgive me eventually." I then say.
