The true mark of maturity is when someone hurts you and you try to understand their situation instead of trying to hurt them back.

Stella left the station disheartened and drove to the hospital to see Megan. She met Deji hovering around the hospital ward guarded by security operatives.
“Deji…”
“Stella, you are back.” Deji said surprised, approaching her, “Have you rested? You seem to be everywhere.”
Stella smiled at his concern. “I don’t think I can rest easy without checking on her. Why are you here?”
“She is still your family, I have to look after her too.” Deji answered glancing at the door and Stella nodded gratefully. “You can go in, I will tell the doctor in charge.”
“No need, I already met him but,” Stella smiled. “thank you for the offer.” She walked past the guards and entered the room.
Megan looked up casually at the sound of the door but laid back on the hospital bed uninterested when she saw it was Stella. Stella watched Megan quietly on the hospital bed. She had no idea why but she felt terribly bad and guilty for Megan, it was overwhelming.
She quietly made her way to a stool next to her and a few seconds passed between them, neither saying anything.
“How do you feel Megan?” Stella asked gently, breaking the silence.
Megan scowled but did not reply choosing to ignore her. Stella sighed, “Megan, I know you hate me but please speak. It isn’t healthy–”
“Just shut up okay!” Megan snapped, tears at the corner of her eyes. Stella was slightly startled but stayed calm letting Megan vent.
“This is all fault! I hope you are happy now! You've stolen everything I've loved! My father and now, my mother! What else do you want from me?!”
“Megan,” Stella’s heart bled for her. “I didn't mean for any of this to happen, I promise. All that is happening, it is the unfortunate cards we were dealt with.”
Megan glared at her. “Get out,” she ordered in a low growl.
Stella stared at Megan for a while before nodding and got up. She glanced at Megan before stepping out and Megan dropped her head sobbing uncontrollably.
“Did it go well?” Deji asked skeptically.
Stella shook her head. “Nothing goes well when talking to her. I am going home now, I need to address the family.”
“Good luck,” Deji said holding her hand for support and Stella smiled. She walked away feeling slightly better.

With Roxy’s detailed description , Stella found her way to the new Esoro home. It was a bit smaller than the main mansion but it was comfortable.
It was also the house where the first murder took place, Raphael Esoro, Stella’s father.
The Esoro family–Marlene, Stella, Roxy and Chinaza–sat in the living room in silence. There was a bone chilling silence and apprehension in the air. It was so tense.
