It was snowing on the first day the boys arrived back at Auburn School. It covered the pebbled path, the trees guiding it, and the tops of the school buildings neatly scattered around campus. They wore coats, but neither of them knew which one belonged to whom, so they ended up swapping between them. It would've made it awkward if they were in different dorms, but for the last time they luckily shared a room, and they shared it with PJ and Chris, too. Dan had been in Crossings for five terms, but this would be the first time all four of them shared a room.

"Perfect, so tonight when we're drinking we can just kick the other boys out of here and let it be us four?" Chris smiled, leaning against his wardrobe as he neatened out his hair.

Dan chuckled, folding out his suit for the next day, "Sounds a bit suspicious, Mate."

"Don't get too jealous." Chris winked.

"Children, children," PJ sighed playfully, "Keep it in your pants."  he hopped onto Phil's bed and took a biscuit from his bedside stash, "I've got something to put forwards." he smiled.

"Well, that terrifies me." Dan laughed, also taking a biscuit.

"I want a goldfish." PJ smiled, shrugging, "I've been told no before, but now it's us four, Mr Brown might let me."

"Surely it would be because it's us four, Mr Brown won't let us?" Phil snickered, taking two of his biscuits, "And anyway, what will happen when we're not in the same dorm next term?"

PJ groaned, rolling his eyes and giving up, "I'll get my fish one day."

"I'll get you a toy fish." Chris mumbled amusedly, patting his best friend on the shoulder, "Fancy getting a headstart?" the youngest boy smirked playfully as he pulled out a bottle of wine.

"Wine, hey?" Dan stood up, walking towards his friend, "Getting sophisticated?"

"Mum wouldn't have noticed during Christmas, so I snuck two away."

"Where's the second?"

"Had to taste test, of course."

"We're all going to leave this school as alcoholics." PJ laughed, popping the bottle open with his teeth. Dan laughed, waiting for the drink to be passed to him. He took it in his grasp from Chris, taking a gulp, then passing it to Phil. The older boy calmly scowled at him, not to threaten him, but to make sure Dan knew he was watching him.

"I haven't got drunk since last term," Dan whispered, "I'm alright, trust me."

"Kiss me," Dan whispered, moving his lips towards Phil as they both tasted of alcohol.

"Drunk yet?" Phil laughed, moving in and pressing his lips to the brown-eyed boy's. Dan hummed, nodding his head as much as he could while he was begging to be swallowed.

"Come on, let's get out of here." Dan chuckled, pulling himself away and standing up, "All of us, come on." he giggled.

"I don't want to." Phil protested, burying himself into Dan and yawning.

"Fine." he mumbled, "You two?" he just wanted to get out of the stuffy dorm room. There was one thing feeling trapped, but it was another literally being enclosed in a room you're not to leave.

"Sure." Chris shrugged, just as intoxicated as his friend, "Want to go to the drama classroom?"

Dan smiled, nodding as he opened the dorm room and wandered down the back stairs of Crossings. Chris followed behind until they were out of the cold, stone building, catching up to his side and bashing into him, "Just like the old days, huh? Before you buggered off with your boyfriend and completely abandoned me!" he dramatically sighed, adding an over-emphasised pout to the act.
