Chapter 24
It's been hours since I witnessed Chaos' other side. It's still unbelievable, but I'll get over it.
Last subject na namin pero 'yong isip ko, lumilipad pa rin sa nangyari kanina. I know I shoukd be focusing right now but I just can't help it. Besides nag-a-advance reading naman ako so it's no big deal if hindi ako makinig.
After dreading minutes, natapos rin ang klase ko. I decided to text Chaos para makapaghanda ako ng sasabihin. It'll be my first time so I hope it's memorable.
I pulled my phone out and composed a message to him.
To Chaos:
Where are you? Meet me at the garden two blocks away from school. 5 pm sharp.
Message sent!
Binalik ko ang phone sa aking bulsa at inayos ang aking mga gamit. It's still half four so I still have 30 minutes to prepare.
I was busy stuffing my things inside the bag nang biglang tumunog ang phone ko. I checked it only to find out that Chaos repkied to my text.
From Chaos:
Alright. 5 sharp it is. I'll see you there in thirty.
I smiled a little knowing he'll be able to get two confessions today.
One from the other girl earlier this morning, and one from me.
I was about to leave the room when Peace suddenly blocked my way.
"I'm sorry, I can't risk it. I know how vulnerable you are right now. You don't need anything else that can worsen your situation," he said full of worry.
I smiled at him. I am deeply touched by his concern but that won't stop me from saying my feelings.
"Thank you so much Peace. But I would rather choose to be broken by harsh truth than cope up with sugarcoated lies. I would rather be brave once than to live a life full of what ifs."
With that, I smiled at him again and left him there. I know my point. At least, someday, I will be able to reminisce this moment and tell to myself, Tanleigh, once in your life you have been brave enough to tell a person what you truly feel.
