you arose to the sound of shuffling and muted voices in the kitchen. as your heavy eyes slowly seperated, you began to see the hut in full view, remembering the events of the day prior.

you sat up slowly and pushed the blanket off your legs and onto the sofa. you looked around and got up off your seat. Looking around you noticed Hagrid and an older man sitting at the kitchen table. They where discussing something quietly, and hadn't noticed you were awake. You couldn't make out anything they were saying, but it was clear it was about you.

You stepped forward but a floor board creaked. You stopped in your tracks and they both turned their heads toward you. This allowed you to get a better look at the other man. He was very old, with a comically long beard. He wore crescent glasses and what may have been a pyjama hat.

"Mornin' y/n. I was just discussion yer situation with the headmaster here at Hogwarts. Y/n, this is Albus Dumbledore."

You turned back to the older man, "nice hat."

The words fell out of your mouth. You're not a morning person, you have no energy to produce a filter. Luckily he just chuckled.

"Thank you, y/n Lestrange, I like to consider myself a decorative man."

"So he knows."

Luckily you kept those thoughts to yourself.

"Well, you will be quite late in the school year, we have already announced the competitors in the triwizard tournament. No need to worry, your books and uniform will be taken care of."

You were speechless for a moment, how was this even happening?

"I imagine you already have a wand?"

You slowly turned back to your jacket laid out on the couch. it was still tucked away safely, Kiki lying on top of the sleeve.

"...yes. But wait-I don't understand, that's it?"

He let out another one of his chucked

"well I suppose it is a tad more complicated but nothing to worry about at the moment. For now, I've had Hagrid here prepare your uniform."

Hagrid proudly help up a large black robe with a pair of socks, shoes, a crew neck sweater and collared shirt inside. It was horrid.

"There's no...colour."

That was hardly your main worry but it was what came to mind in the moment.

"Well you will be given a coloured tie after your sorting ceremony. Here at Hogwarts, there are four houses, one of which you will be sorted into."

It was intuiting and exciting, but you were still taken aback by those uniforms. Apparently, Albus could see that.

"Whatever your intentions are in regard to following our dress code, I can guarantee it will be professor Mcgonagall who harps on it more than I."

Still in shock from this whole experience, you were oddly calm.

"I've been called many things, professor, and boring is not one of them."

"So our uniforms our boring then?"

"You've been so kind as to allow me into the school, don't make me disrespect the uniform before the first day. Especially to the headmaster of all people."

The words flew out of your mouth with confidence and wit, no regret in your mind.

"Well then I won't press on further." There was a moment of silence and you open your mouth to ask a question.

"When will I start?"

"Two days time. Tomorrow you can have time to arrange your things, your books will arrive by then. And by the next morning you will be in your first class. If you have any other questions, Hagrid has the answer."

And just liked that, he turned to leave.
