"Turn to page 394." Profess Snape said with an exhausted look on his face.

You flipped the pages of your textbook, flipping through an assortment of deadly and colourful potions.

Potions wasn't your forte, you weren't bad at it but your true passion lies in care of magical creatures, but you had a natural gift for defense against the dark arts that rivalled even that of Harry Potter, but it's all just the same old for you in that class. Though it did feel good every time you stepped ahead of "the chosen one".

As you flipped through the pages of your textbook, you saw someone staring at you. Of course, most people were staring at you at all times. But this one was different, it wasn't with intent or even with shock, she looked as though she genuinely hates you. But the moment you met her eyes and sat back in your chair intimidatingly, she quickly turned her head back toward the front of the class. You did see her face, but her aggressively large hair hid it when you sat behind her. You thought nothing of it and moved on.

But as the days went by, she appeared more and more, always glaring by at you. It was like she was trying to pierce you when you when you weren't looking.

"Ever since the triwizard tournament began, Hermiones been more on edge for Harry's sake."

"More so than she already is. Maybe we should loosen her up a little with a sweet treat?" George said slyly to Fred.

"What are you two babbling about?"

You stood behind Fred and George at the lunch tables, looking down at them with two books and your hand as well as a sandwich.

"Morning~" George said as he turned to you.

"It's afternoon George."

"We were just talking about our good friend, Hermione. She's friends with Harry and since he's in the tournament she's been off."

"Well when your friend is entered into a deathly competition, it's pretty natural to get a tad tense."

"Good point Lestrange!" Fred said with sarcastic enthusiasm.

"Then perhaps we should schedule a massage for her?"

"Here she comes now!" George looked toward the entryway of the main hall and pointed toward a trio of kids a couple years below you. There was Harry Potter. You've been trying to ignore him. Every time you see him it's like you're reminded of your failure. Or worse, your obligation to your mother.

But wait, the girl by his side, that's as the girl who had been glaring at you. She seemed so much calmer next to the two boys.

"That's the girl who's been staring at me."

"You didn't even need us to introduce you two! Best friend already eh?" Fred said as he climbed up from his seat and wrapped his arm around your shoulder, looking ahead at the trio, waving with his other hand.

When the trio saw you with the twins, they stopped in their tracks and stared at you, brows furrowed. What were the twins doing with a monster such as yourself? You could practically taste their thoughts. They made their way toward you all the same, shuffling awkwardly, planning what they we're going to say.

"Y/n, meet our good friends. Harry, Hermione, and Ron."

"Little Ron over here is our little brother." George got up and shuffled Ron's hair.

"Cut it out! What are you two doing with her?"

you raised an eyebrow, truly impressed with the straightforwardness you had been waiting for since you arrived at Hogwarts.

"how rude. I expected more from you, little man."

"don't worry about it Freddie. He at least spat it out." you looked at Hermione.

"quick on her feet! who wouldn't want her around?"

"quite a few people actually. Look, I understand that there is...bad blood."

Hermione scoffed and looked to the side.

"But I would rather we get it out now so we can move forward without trying to pierce me with your glares in class. So say whatever needs to be said. We can talk about it if you're comfortable."

they were all stunned for a moment, George laughed a bit but covered his mouth with his hand.

"nobody? ok, I'll go first. Hermione, you stare at me a lot. I've been trying to take it as a compliment but you make that very hard. you know absolutely nothing about me or why I'm here, it is not fair that you get to treat my like you do. Likewise with most people at this school"

she was stunned, and began to clutch her books harder.

"Ron was straight forward, I get to do the same."

a few moments of silence passes and nobody has said anything.

"Ok look, I don't owe you guys any explanations, so I've said what I needed to so I'm going to go. I really hope whatever this is, it ends soon. If there is anything else that you need to get out, I'll be in the gardens."

"we don't have gardens, are you talking about the forest?" George said.

"Potato Tomato." you said with little expression on your face as you walked off, cutting between Hermione and Ron.

the twins looked at each other as you walked off, books and sandwich in hand. they exchanged a glance that said "we need to see what happens" but also "we need to watch out for her".

"wait up y/n!" they said together.

the trio was left silent in the main hall, still trying to comprehend what had just happened.
