"It was heroic, I'll give him that."

"He was last though. How does Harry end up always winning even though he didn't meet the original requirements? It's like, sure, you were last. But you're my favourite student and the chosen one. One million points to Gryffindor!"

"I thought it was entertaining. All of that 'will he live? Will he die?' Very edge of my seat." Well, you were standing. And a lot of the time was spent watching the boys fight over popcorn.

"I see your point. Still though. Blatant favouritism."

You and Neville had gotten much closer since you had talked by the pond. It was a little weird at first, for some reason he's always been very awkward around you. Though Luna says he's that way with everyone.

Since you two had magical creatures together, there was more opportunity to talk. Eventually you offered to be partners for a project and since then you've been really close. Well, all thanks to Luna. She would carry most of the conversations between you two.

"I loved the part when he surfaced from the water. It was very dramatic, very Harry." Lunas hands and eyes were focused on the blast ended skrewt that was trapped before you. Each team of three had one in a cage, and were given the task of feeding it. You and Neville both were preparing the food and gloves.

"Now remember, they ain't at all dangerous. The gloves are only a precaution."

"Words of wisdom, Hagrid."

You carefully handed Neville a pair of gloves. You stared, fascinated at the creature.

"They're still under 2 months old, so you can get close to em."

Not everyone took him up on the offer. Neville being one of them.

"Oh god. I don't even know where it's head it. Y/n..." he handed the gloves back to you. You picked them up and carefully placed each one on your hand.

"Sally."

"What?" Neville looked at you, but back at the floor when he realized he basically responded to the name 'Sally'.

"I've named her Sally." You picked up the small vile of ant eggs and began to tip it into the cage, carefully into the plastic container to keep them maintained.

"Haven't quite figured out their meal o' preference yet...they've got a thing for ant eggs. As you can see. I'm gonna be testin' out frog livers next."

A boy in the back of the class gagged. It made you giggle.

"And grass snake." You looked up and mumbled to the professor.

"Well there we go, y/n. Nice to know somebody's payin' attention to my lectures." He adjusted his belt and looked up at the class, with a newfound sense of confidence.

"Know it all!" You heard from across the room, adjacent you your table.

You rolled your eyes and looked to the other side of the class room. You knew exactly who it was. George had been very sulky since you'd picked to work with Luna and Neville over he and Fred.

You glared at him hard from across the room, picking him apart with your gaze. You saw his childish anger shrink into a sulk. You softened your eyes and blew him a kiss, winked, and looked back to the skrewt.

George was stewing where he stood, irritated at himself that he keeps letting you get away with that.

"Awww, angry Georgie." Fred took off his one glove and stroked the top of George's head.

"Shut it, Fred."

Fred hit him across the head.

"You'd better pull yourself together. We've got a..." he pauses to look back to the skrewt. "thing...to feed." He cringed and began to take of his gloves, handing them to George.

"You've got a thing to feed." He corrected himself.

"Why me?"

"You need the distraction."

They both knew Fred just didn't want to get too close to the skrewt. It looked like a two headed scorpion, but without the heads. It was a two rear-ended scorpion. Makes you wonder why Hagrid would ever have bred them into existence.

George looked at Fred, exhausted, and took the gloves from him. He yanked them down his for arms, his brows furrowed at the creature before him.

You, however, were mesmerized at George. Every now and again he did something so unintentionally sexy...it was a treat. He pulled his gloves down his forearms, one after another, while staring at the creature. Once he was done, he turned his eyes to you and winked.

"Oh he knows exactly what he's doing."

You smirked and turned away, knowing you'd have to get him back for that later.

"You have a problem."

"I do not."

"...I'll go ahead and take my leave." Fred excused himself from the classroom and went to lunch.

You smiled to Fred as he left. He turned back around and saluted you. George waved lazily and resumed your conversation.

"I have friends! Multiple! I'd like to be able to work with them for an hour without my boyfriend acting like a toddler."

"I've been told by many people that my mental age is four. You chose this toddler."

"Don't make me regret it."

This made George smirk. He sighed and looked down at the ground.

"Sorry y/n. I was just hoping we could have done that together."

You smiled softly as he lifted his head back up.

"I promise, the next time we've got a creepy scorpion to feed, you'll be the first person I run to."

"That's all I ask."

George quickly smacked his head on your cheek, giving you a little peck, and running off to find Fred.

He left you blushing and smiling. Most of the class had gone, but those few who stayed were either visibly uncomfortable, giggly, or Luna and Neville. Who were laughing to each other.

You picked up your books and waved them goodbye.

"You're gonna need to find an new partner next time."

"We'll manage." Neville smiled kindly.

"I've always been curious to talk to Ginny."

"She isn't even in this class, Luna."

"I was only inserting my opinion."

You decided to leave before they asked you any questions.
