"Open your textbooks to page 276. There you will see a chapter entitled 'the Reductor curse'. Annabella, if you would begin at 'despite..."
You followed the text with your eyes, drifting along the words as Annabella read them aloud. Yet again, nothing new. You emotionlessly flipped the page, and saw a small piece of paper. Upon closer inspection, you knew who it was from. The nearly illegible handwriting gave it away.
'Charms is incredibly boring, isn't it? I'm sorry I'm not with you for emotional support...but I'll make up for it tonight! See you at 7 ~'
He also drew a few little hearts in the corner and a pathetic looking stick man that you had to assume was Flitwick. You couldn't help but smile and giggle. You and George had just begun to visit each other in each other's common rooms. Needless to say, some people were getting irritated. Since your last visit was with the Gryffindors, even if only to pass along a favour for Harry, George took it upon himself to visit you this time.

You lied in bed, clutching your stomach and staring up at the ceiling. Though George would be arriving soon, your uterus didn't exactly get the memo.
Luna had charmed your blanket to heat up over your stomach to help with the pain, but it wasn't as helpful as you had hoped.
"Your mother never taught you to deal with your period?"
"I was mostly raised by my father." You sighed staring up at Luna. You lied on your side, your head on your pillow and your arm across your stomach.
"Well I've no idea how to do anything myself either. My mother died when I was nine."
"You heated up my blanket for me."
"When mine first arrived, my father went into a panic. Through much studying, he did learn a few things. Almost made a potion for pain."
"Do you know how to make it?"
"Not a clue. My father...isn't the handiest with potions, that was my mum."
There was a long pause of silence. Luna moved from the floor to your bed. She sat at your feet.
"You were raised by your father you say?"
"Up until she escaped from Azkaban a few years ago."
"Was he a nice man?"
"No."
"Oh..." Luna stared off into the distance.
"Well, he wasn't all that harmful I suppose. He was always drunk. Didn't give two shits where I was."
Apparently, pain makes you honest.
"Mum raised me until I was five. I don't remember a lot, but I remember the emotions I felt. And the scars they left. But when she was sent away, so was I."
"To your father." Luna stated. Not quite for any reason other than perhaps her own understanding.
"Yeah. I don't hate him I don't think. He was more of a burden than anything. Needed lots of babying and couldn't handle the responsibilities of staying sober, let alone a child."
You didn't even know why you were telling Luna all of this. It was all just falling out of your mouth. You wanted to cry, but tears didn't even come. You couldn't summon them if you tried.
"Then my mum broke out. She came to...take me away I suppose. She said there was a lot of 'potential' in me. But I guess she thought my dad would care too much I was gone. She was wrong, didn't stop her though."
You paused for a moment to think. To remember. The exact moment when she burst through the door. You remember the wild look in her eyes, and the fear in your fathers. How she slammed the door wide open the moment she saw you. Holding out her hand, she took yours and led you away. Before she could go however, she finished off what she couldn't all those years ago.
Suddenly, the door of your own dorm creaked open. Behind it, thankfully, was George.
"Evening love." He waltzed in, looking quite astonished at the fact he could enter the girls dorms.
"You didn't tell me boys could enter the girls dorms! How did you manage that?"
You stayed silent. A worried look fell over his face. He quickly rushed to your side and knelt down on the floor, facing your head.
"What's the matter?"
"Period cramps." Luna interjected. "We were also discussing quite the heavy topic. The mood is a little heavier I suppose."
"...I don't know where to start." He placed his hands on the bed, his fingers clutching it gently.
"Maybe I can come back later?"
You looked down, ashamed. If there was one person you never wanted to see you like this, it was George.
"Maybe in an hour?" You looked back up at him shyly.
"I'll see you then." He kissed your forehead and nodded to Luna on the way out. He was careful to shut the door gently. He seems to notice how it startled you when he entered. Little things like that made you smile. Made you fall in love with him ever so slightly more.
"I won't make you talk more about anything you don't want to talk about." Luna placed her hand on your calf, and stroked it gently.
"I love you Luna. And it's getting easier to say." You smiled proudly.
"I love you so much, y/n. I'll stay here for a while. I'll leave when George arrives."
"What would be great."
