Note: so it's been a bit of a slow burn but we're kicking things off today! Enjoy~
You and never before experienced the utter confusion and panic that is sitting down for lunch in the main hall of Hogwarts. Or in any main hall. There was so many people, all gathered around fighting and talking and running and whispering, it was terrifyingly chaotic.
"They do have pudding." Luna said as she smiled at the dining table with an assortment of scones, cookies, jams and cupcakes.
"Where do we sit?" Your eyes were wide and brows furrowed. All you really hoped to do over the break was sit with Luna and read a book. "The tale of beedle the bard" to be specific. You had just taken the copy from the library. Majority of the books you've been reading your whole life were spell books. Mother never minded when you were engrossed in a fictional book, but she was ecstatic when you were able to show her a new curse you had learned.
"Let's sit there." She pointed toward the assortment of dessert.
"I expecting nothing less from you."
You both began to walk toward the area. You had expected to have to fight your way through the crowd of people to have a seat, but not much to your surprise, they all willingly scooted to the side, allowing for a very wide space for both you and Luna to make camp. In fact, a few students even got up and left. You suspected it was because they feared you would curse them for standing too close to you. But who even cares when you get the seat in front of the sweets?
You and Luna sat down as she began to make her plate. You took a scone into your hand and laid down your book on the table, excited to learn a tale so apparently infamous as "the tales of beedle the bard".
But before you could even finish both the scone and the chapter, it was ripped away from you. You rolled your eyes and took in a deep breath. You looked down at the one bite of scone you and left and scarfed it down your throat. You turned around to see the twins, yet again, irritating you.
"Freddie," you said sarcastically as you looked up at the one twin.
"Georgie," as you said his name he began to smirk and even blush a bit.
"I was so close to finishing the first-"
"How did you know which was which?" Fred furrowed his brows and smiled.
"What?"
"How did you know I was George?" "And that I was Fred."
You turned your brows upward as though you were tired of this, as though it were elementary. But you were proud of this, and you were going to show off you secret talent with flair.
"Fred your face is shorter and your cheekbones are prominently up on your face. whereas George's- sweet little Georgie," you said sarcastically, "your face is longer and thinner, and your check bones prominently droop downward across your cheeks.
Also, your nose is more prominent. Your eyes are more pronounced as well and when your smile your lips curve unevenly. Fred's nose isn't as prominent and his smile is thin and even."
They were in shock, but has the same cocky grin they always had on.
"Another book worm, eh Freddie?"
"Not another one. We have to fix that, don't we? We wouldn't want another Granger on our hands."
"Granger? What is that some feral animal?"
"In some ways."
"But don't tell her that. And if you do, we didn't say it."
"So she's a she, and she can talk, I have to assume she's human."
"Perhaps we should introduce?" George said as he leaned in and sat next to you on the bench.
"There are very few students who are interested in meeting me at all, let alone forced together by you two. By your track record I'm assuming you're both up to something."
"This is your first day here Lestrange, how would you even be familiar with our track record?"
"Unless of course you've taken a sudden interest in us. I'm sorry to say y/n, but I have plans to take Angelina to the ball." Said Fred sarcastically. Luna was in the spot next to you, hearing everything but saying nothing. However, because of her presence Fred couldn't sit next to you.
"There is lots to unpack there so let's start with the beginning . One, I am a smart enough human to be able to that you two almost never do things because you can. It's always for some sort of benefit or prank. And you still haven't told me otherwise."
"You've got us there Lestrange" said George.
"Two, I have no such intentions with Fred. You're just too much. There is no emotional intelligence behind that red hair, plus you've got fireworks for brains."
"I'll take that as a compliment Lestrange, perhaps then-"
"Let me cut you off there. As I was saying, oh where was I? Oh yes, you have fireworks for brains. The point is, if either of you, George is more my type."
Fred smirked and turned toward Georgie, who was already blushing and giggling, trying to make it look cool but he really just looked...adorable.
"And thirdly, congratulations on you and Angelina. I've no idea who she is, and I pity her for obviously not realizing what she's getting into, but all the same. I wish you two happiness."
"You here that Georgie? She wishes us happiness."
"Shut up Fred you haven't even asked her yet."
"Oh but she'll say yes."
"How do you know?!" He turned to his brother with a wide grin on his face.
Fred scoffed and puffed out his chest, trying to look down at George but they were the same height so it was futile. He pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and a quill. He smacked it down on the table as he began to write. You couldn't make out was it was, but it looked to you like a silly doodle.
Then he scrunched it up. It was random but not unpredictable for Fred. And he threw it across the table at who you had to assume was Angelina. "How romantic."
Then when he finally caught her attention, she turned over confused. She opened the paper and was visibly more confused.
Then Fred, through a series of hand movements, suggested Angelina go to the hall with him. And she said yes.
"A match made in heaven Georgie." He said as he turned to him proudly.
George was looking at you from the corner of his eye, not even looking at his brother.
"Yeah..." he said. "A match made in heaven."
