Tree of Beginning (Brendan)
"Glad to see you guys are okay," Red said, out of breath. Green, Blue and Yellow were close behind."Same," Brendan replied. "I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm going after Bogdan."
"Do you know where he is?"
"I know he's not in the Tree anymore," Brendan said.
"What makes you say that?"
"Because he's a coward," Brendan said simply. "As soon as the attack commenced, he used the chaos to slip away."
"Why?"
"Because he knows I'll follow him out of the Tree. If I don't, he'll be able to escape.
"So it could very well be a trap, and you're completely aware of that, and you're still going?" Red asked, confused.
"Oh it's undoubtedly a trap, and yes I am going. But if he gets away, then this will become an even worse problem. Also, I have some.... issues I need to work out with him," Brendan said, beginning to run again. "Keep everybody safe, will you, you guys?"
"You got it, but I want you to know that I don't like you running off on your own," Red said. "Patrons died tonight, Brendan. I saw at least three of them."
"This is all Bogdan's doing," Brendan thought grimly, before responding. "I'll make him pay, Red. I swear I will."
Red nodded silently. "Then I'll give you an opening."
"No, I'll handle that much," Brendan said, raising one of his hands and resting another on the ground. "I've been trying to keep my Energy unspent the whole fight, because I was going to go after Bogdan. However, everyone else is likely running out of Energy, so I'll deal with these pesky reinforcements."
"Are you sure you'll have enough energy to fight Bogdan? We don't know how much he's used, if any."
"True, but this move won't wipe out all of my Energy," Brendan said, his eyes glowing bright pink and his hands beginning to smoke as well. "And I always have a few special moves I can fall back on if things don't go as planned. All of you, get behind me please."
Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow all nodded and raced behind Brendan. Brendan looked at the people flooding in through the hole in the Tree of Beginning, and smirked.
"I'll have to hold back just a little so I don't kill all of them. It'll knock them out of commission, that's for sure. This will instantly knock out their Pokémon, so I can't exactly say that these idiots will survive their fall... Naw, I'm sure they'll be fine."
"BLAST BURN!"
An immense blast of fire erupted from Brendan's hand, the recoil of which sent him and everyone directly behind him back by about half a foot. Simultaneously, the ground began to shake, and a massive inferno appeared to burst out of the ground. Both blasts connected just as they made contact with the Thorn Trainers and other thugs, completely engulfing them and their Pokémon in the raging inferno. The fight appeared to cease for a few moments as everyone looked on, awed or terrified of the spectacle.
The flames died away, and countless Trainers and thugs fell from the sky, their Pokémon spiraling to the ground as well. All of the Pokémon were fainted, but the sheer heat and intensity of the flames likely left the Trainers and thugs in a very bad way. Their fall was broken by Red and Green, who used Psychic to catch the thugs and Trainers when they were only a foot or so above the stone floor.
The Psychic Patrons looked and each other and nodded, their eyes glowing a brilliant violet and magenta, respectively. They raised the goons into the air another two or three feet before slamming all of them into the ground with impressive force. Green was panting, and Brendan remembered that she was pregnant.
