Tree of Beginning (Meeting Area)
(Brendan)
After Sagara ended the meeting, Brendan and the others went about tending to their dead comrades, gathering them near the opening and having their Flying Pokémon carry them to the ground below. It had been silent work so far, and they were almost done.  The orange sap-like organisms that took care of the Tree had been sifting through the area, assimilating the fallen Thorn Trainers and using them to help heal the Tree. Brendan saw a couple hundred all latching to the giant hole in the Tree, slowly mending the damage.

"Well the Tree is already going about mending itself," he thought.

"Irregardless, it'll likely take them a year before they can close the hole in the Tree, much less repairing the damage done to the inside of the Tree," Groudon spoke.

Once all of the bodies of their fallen friends were out of the Tree, some of the Patrons who had Ground Type Pokémon buried the dead. Shortly after that, everyone went on their way, saying thanks to a few soldiers from Rota for their assistance during the battle. After the Patrons all promised to be where they would need to be in two days, everyone went their separate ways, except for Brendan and his friends. They'd been resting for a short while, before Brendan stands up.

"Alright, let's go check on our friends," Brendan said grimly as he whistled for his Skarmory. Everyone slowly got to their feet, and May slowly walked over to him as Skar appeared and landed next to them. Wally called back Phoenix, and the others all called for their respective Flying-Types.

Flying Towards Rota
"I just realized," Steven said as they flew. "Where were the Patrons of the Mythical Pokémon? Weren't they supposed to protect the Tree?"

"If I had to guess, they're probably dead or they went into hiding," Brendan answered. "While powerful, the Mythical Pokémon aren't as strong as the Legends. The same is true for their Patrons, as well. However, while Darkrai is a Mythical Pokémon, he's the only one that can go toe to toe with multiple Legendaries at once. He's the strongest Mythical Pokémon. It would make sense then if his Patron went after the weaker Mythicals first, to gain power as quickly as possible."

"Why are they called Mythical," Ash asked. "I've seen them in the flesh. There's absolutely nothing Mythical about them."

"You know I'm aware that humans are beginning to doubt our existence," Groudon said.

"To be completely fair, were it not for the fact I can manipulate fire, I would doubt your existence, and the existence of my sanity, O Deep Grumbling Voice In My Head."

"It's your job to remind people of old Legends," Groudon reminded his Patron.

"Isn't that why you Legendaries went into hiding in the first place? Because people actively tried to catch you all ad nauseam? Our job became the job of keeping balance in nature."

"And it's good to know you humans suck at that as well," Groudon replied.

"There's nothing stopping you from emerging, causing a few disasters, beating up Darkrai, and then just going back to sleep. So why don't you?"

"You think I want to be caught by someone with a Master Ball, or someone with an iron will and ninety-nine Pokéballs?"

"That's what I thought. Also, you sound bitter about something," Brendan said. Groudon just sighed, done with his Patron for a bit.

"Have you ever heard of the old saying, 'Truth becomes Legend, and Legend becomes Myth?'" April questioned. "Well, the Mythical Pokémon are the Truths behind those Myths."
