Brimstone Pub, Brendan's Room
Brendan had been sitting in bed, with his hand in May's for awhile now. He'd decided to let her sleep, especially since he needed to figure out how to break the news that she was in danger to her.
"It'll probably be rough," Brendan thought. "Since I'm going to basically be confirming her worst fear is a reality. That the man who wants her dead is, in fact, a Patron as well. I'll have to contact Steven and April about this."
May began to stir, making Brendan jump.
"Morning, May, " Brendan purred as she opened her eyes.
"Hey, Brendan," she replied, sitting up, and stretching. "What time is it?"
"9:45. May, I have something to tell you."
"We told each other we loved each other a lot last night, Brendan," she joked, giving him a hug.
"It's actually about Harley," Brendan said. "Groudon told me about Shadow Patrons. I suspect Harley is a Shadow Patron."
May's smiling expression turned to one of horror.
"Y-you mean?" She stuttered.
"Yes, he's extremely dangerous. I need to get Steven and April over here. We can make a plan to stop him." There was a long and uneasy silence between them both.
"Maybe I should just let him kill me, if that's what he wants," May said, looking at the ground.
"No!" Brendan exclaimed. "I won't let him kill you. You know that." He held her close, and closed his eyes. The image of her death from his dream still all too clear in his mind. "I'll die before I let that happen, May."
"Brendan," May whispered. "What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to train you. I'll teach you how to use your powers. I'll try to teach you how to control water. I'll get Steven and April to help out as well."
"Does that also mean I'll have to create a Team?" She asked him.
"That's up to you, May. I can't really tell you who to enlist. I only formed Team Brimstone three years ago, when you were away, and when my parents died."
"I wish I could've been there to help you, Brendan," She gave Brendan a kiss. "Alright, let's call Steven and April. If they can come here, we can formulate a plan. And then I'll begin my training."
"Alright," Brendan replied. "Well, I'll let you get dressed. Meet me downstairs. I imagine the others are getting breakfast at the moment."
"Alright."

Brimstone Pub, Pub Floor
Brendan was sitting with Wally and Claire at a table by the stairs, with breakfast ready for him and May. They each had two pancakes, some eggs, toast, and there were three cups of water. Now he was just waiting on May. After a couple of minutes, she walked down the stairs, wearing blue denim jeans and her red shirt.
"No business?" She asked, scanning the room. The only people in the pub were the Lieutenants.
"Not at the moment," Wally explained as she sat down. "But, it'll probably pick up eventually. The city's getting ready for the Festival, so it's kind of difficult to get anywhere by foot."
"And, likewise, we're also getting ready for the Festival," Damian added. "After all, that's going to be a busy week."
"But, it will be worthwhile," Marilyn said. "There'll be a lot of money spent here."
"Yep," Brendan agreed, beginning to eat. "And Giri'll probably work a lot more than us, considering it'll help him get his family to the main land. Right, O'Donnell?"
"Yep," Giri replied.
"As for me, I'll probably be escorting Claire around the Festival," Nathan replied.
"What about you, Brendan?" Wally asked.
"Apart from hanging out with you guys, I'll be training May to use her powers," he replied.
"Does this have something to do with Harley?" Wally asked.
"Who's Harley?" Claire asked.
"A very bad man, Claire. He doesn't like May, because- actually, I don't even know the reason why," Brendan said. "I know you're both coordinators, but apart from that, I don't see any reason for him to hate you."
"I don't know, either. Something about when he was a kid someone who looked like me ate his ice cream or something," May explained. "He's 29. I don't know why. I didn't even know him when I was a kid."
"So he hates you because you look like that person, correct?"
"Pretty much."
"But what does he have to do with you wanting to train her?" Marilyn asked.
"Because, he apparently began threatening her life recently. And, he did all of this even though knows May is a Patron."
"So, that must mean that he's a Patron, too," Giri said, his tone serious.
"And, Groudon unfortunately told me that he just so happens to a very dangerous Patron. He's a Patron of Darkrai. He told me that the last time there was a Patron of Darkrai, it took three Patrons to defeat. One of them died, but the other two survived, with serious injuries."
"And, now he's after May? Does that mean he's going to try to kill her?"
"It seems that way," Brendan sighed, he saw May lower her head out of the corner of his eye. "However, I'm not going to let him kill her without a fight. Not only will I be training her, I'll fight Harley myself."
"Does that mean you're going to kill him?" Wally said.
"If it comes to that, yes," Brendan answered grimly.
"Hey, he might have some goons with him," Nathan said, a slight grin appearing on his face. "And, he'll be trespassing in our territory if he does appear. In fact, they might even come here."
"And we simply can't have someone trying to kill one of our friends, now can we?" Damian agreed.
"You know, they'd be awfully bad for business, too," Wally chuckled.
"What are you guys going on about?" Brendan asked.
"It wouldn't look good on us if our boss fought alone, now would it? We are a team, after all," Marilyn said, looking at him. "Brendan, we'll be fighting right along side you and May."
"Guys...." Brendan sighed. "It's been awhile since we've all had to fight. Are you guys sure?"
"Of course we're sure!" Nathan exclaimed.
"When did you guys have a fight before?" Claire asked, her Eevee laying on her head.
"When we clashed with April's group, Team Permafrost," Brendan explained. "The fighting wound up getting resolved two years and ten months ago. You weren't part of Brimstone at the time, Claire. We took you in earlier this year. Now, we Permafrost and Brimstone tolerate each other, but April and I both agree that our Teams should definitely stay out of each other's way. So, they patrol the new towns and waters near the Shoal Islands, their headquarters."
"I didn't know Hoenn built towns out there," May said.
"They're seasonal villages, I think. People go there to escape winter, and some go there to enjoy summer."
"April actually helped build one of the hotels, if I recall," Wally said. "Rather than have air conditioning, April and her Team made various ice sculptures using their powers. The sculptures will never melt or break, and they can cool entire rooms. It's interesting how they utilize their powers for things other than destruction, huh?"
"Well, I need to learn how to use my powers, if I have to fight," May sighed. "Otherwise, Harley's gonna kill me."
"Not if I can help it," Brendan growled. "I'll help train you, May. I'll contact Steven and April, too. We can fill them in on what we know, and help train you. We can use an old storage area that's part of my Dad's former Lab. Thankfully, one of his Aides runs it, I they know me. His name is Harry. Well, Harrison, but everyone just calls him Harry. He was a good friend of my Mom and Dad."
"Alright, so we're heading out there, soon?"
"Eat first, using your powers the first few times will physically drain you. The body has to get used to it, so you'll definitely have a limit."
"What happens if I exceed that limit?" She asked.
"Well, according to Groudon, it shouldn't be a problem, as exhaustion would probably knock you out before you could exceed that limit. But, exceeding your limit would probably kill you."
"You passed out a lot while you were training with my powers, human," Groudon muttered. "Even knowing what would happen if you tried to reach your limit."
"Since I'm a Patron of Kyogre, do you think I'd be able to breathe underwater?"
"Probably, but you might drown trying," Brendan replied. "Right now, you should worry more about using your powers to defend yourself at the moment. And also, you should probably contact Kyogre as well. Have you been able to contact him at all?"
"Not since I got this bracelet from him, Brendan," she sighed, showing the silver bracelet with a sapphire gem inlay. Similar to the fire in Brendan's ruby, there were crashing waves entombed in the sapphire.
"Well, once you learn to activate your Item, he should contact you."
"Alright," she swallowed the last of her meal. "I'm ready, then. Let's do this. But, first, I have to ask you something."
"You want to bring your friends along?" He guessed.
"Yes. Would that be okay? Since you're bringing Steven and April."
"I'll be honest with you, May," Brendan began. "I can't say I'm a fan of all of your friends; Dawn in particular comes to mind, but sure. If you want them to be there. But, doesn't this mean that they'll find out you're a Patron?"
"Honestly, I don't care if they find out now," May said. "After all, they're in just as much danger as I am. But, also, if I'm going to form a Team in the future, I think they're the people I'd choose."
"Okay, and I should probably apologize for almost immolating your friend, I guess."
"Yeah, that would be nice, too," she agreed.
"Alright, call them. I'll check if Steven and April are free."
Littleroot Pokémon Research Laboratory, 11:03 a.m., 2018
Brendan and May entered the Lab, which was in near perfect condition as always.
"Ah, can I help you, Brendan?" A young black-haired man, the receptionist, asked.
"Hello, Alex," Brendan greeted him. "Is Harrison in? I need to ask him something."
"Yes he is, give me a moment, I'll have him come out here shortly," Alex replied, quickly dialing Harrison's number. "Please take a seat, he'll be out shortly." He cleared his throat. "Hello, is this Prof. Harrison? You have a visitor." Within a few minutes, Harrison was before them.
"Hi, Brendan," Harrison greeted him. "I assume you're here about you and your friends using our old warehouse that's near the woods to the south?"
"Uh, yes," Brendan said. "He's a fast talker as usual."
"Sure. Remember, the place is old, so be at least a little careful, okay?" Harrison asked, handing him the key to the warehouse.
"Knowing me, I can't promise anything," Brendan joked. After Harrison left, Brendan turned to May. "Alright, we'll wait for the others, and then we'll take a Lab truck to the warehouse."
"Sure," she agreed.
