Tree of Beginning (Wally and Claire)
"Claire, stay behind me, close your eyes, cover your ears, and stay down!" Wally ordered as he took Claire's hand and pulled her behind him. He saw four Lieutenants, joined by twelve Trainers running at him, powers ready and weapons out. He didn't know any of them personally; he only made an effort to memorize the Lieutenants of Brendan's allies, and his fellow Brimstone Lieutenants. But he did know they were Bogdan's Lieutenants, and that alone made him want to fight them.

"I'll teach you not to mess with Team Brimstone!" Wally declared, tossing a Pokéball. His Gardevoir appeared, and he smiled. "Annelise, it would appear that those Lieutenants over yonder want to hurt us. Can you thin them out? Just don't kill 'em. Well, try not to, anyways."
His Gardevoir smiled and nodded, raising it's hand and she raised five of the Trainers into the air with Psychic, and then she threw them into the far wall with relatively impressive force.

"Are, uh, they still alive?" He asked. She shrugged in response. Before he could speak he had to block a bat that belonged to a Thorn Trainer. He saw that the Trainer would've hit Claire, and he felt rage building in his chest. He grabbed the bat and slammed his palm into the Trainer's elbow, breaking his arm. He then quickly kicked the Trainer below the belt, making him drop to his knees and then he curbstomped his head into the stone floor, knocking him out. He quickly picked up the bat and he then activated his powers. The bat was coated in fire, but it remained unscathed.

"Alright, then, you bastards," he snarled. "If you want violence, then I'll give it to you."

"Go to hell!" A Thorn Trainer snarled, lunging towards him with a knife. Wally swung the bat, striking the knife and melting the steel into a useless, dull lump of metal. Then he flicked a small ball of embers into the Trainer's face. Right as they landed on him, he snapped his fingers, causing a bunch of micro-explosions across the man's upper body, packing just enough force to throw him onto his back, unconscious. He then quickly turned around and grabbed another Thorn Trainer by the neck. He punched the man in his stomach, making him cough, before throwing him into a wall a few feet away. He looked around. More Thorn Trainers were appearing, and Wally cursed under his breath.

"Shit, they just keep coming!" He thought, seeing six more Thorn Trainers heading his way. He noted blood on some of their weapons. "I can't hold them off forever! I need to get Claire out of here! I guess I don't have any choice, then." He flicked his wrist, summoning a wall of fire. It wasn't going to last forever.

"Annelise! To me!" He ordered. His Gardevoir ran over to him, having dealt with her three adversaries. "Alright, listen up, I need you to get Claire out of here. Get her out of the Tree, find Phoenix, and then fly Claire to a safe distance. Don't let anything happen to her, alright?"

Annelise protested, not wanting to leave him to fight alone. He looked at her.
"Annalise, please, get Claire to safety and stay with her no matter what." Annelise hesitated for a moment, before nodding with a grim look of determination on her face. He smiled, resting his hand on her head.

"Thank you, Annelise," he smiled, feeling his mind go back to the day he caught Annelise. Brendan and May had helped him. His face then grew serious once again. "Alright, I'm going to buy you guys some time. Get going! And, Annelise and Claire, no matter what you hear, no matter what you see, or sense, you do not come back here. We'll find you guys, alright!?" Annelise nodded grimly. Wally thought that she was trembling a bit. Claire then slowly got up and hugged Wally, before looking at him with tears in her eyes. He looked at her reassuringly.
"Everything will work out in the end, Claire. I promise that I'll find you guys after this fight. Count on it." He hoped he sounded convincing enough. He heard the sound of the Thorn Trainers approaching the firewall. "Go!"
Annelise grabbed Claire and ran, throwing a miniature black hole at the floor in front of a group of Thorn Trainers, making them fall as the ground collapsed around them. He smiled.
