The Hoenn Power Plant, October 20th, 9:00 am.

Drew made his way through the Power Plant, trying to hurry.

"So what are we looking for, Zapdos?" Drew asked as he looked around. "What's our best bet of weakening Harley?"

"We need to find the main generators. That'll give us enough electricity to overload the power plant. And that will cause a chain of explosions. The power plant will completely destroyed."

"And the only downsides are the Hoenn Region having a mass blackout, as well as my death," Drew concluded. "So be it."

"For what it's worth, I wish there were another way," Zapdos said, sadness in its voice. "No Legendary wants to see their Patron die."

"Well, hopefully in the future, you won't have to," Drew replied. "I've come to terms with my decision, and I'm at peace. Now, how do I find the generators?"

"Focus, and lock in on the most powerful electrical signature. And after you do..."

"Launch my strongest attack right at it, I know." Drew said as he closed his eyes, searching for the strongest source of electricity. Lightning engulfed his arms and legs as he dashed through the Power Plant. He could audibly hear sparks dancing across the walls, floor, and ceiling as he ran, causing lights to flicker burst from the sudden influx of electricity. He saw a massive blast door up ahead and knew that the core was directly behind it. He coursed electricity through his arm, and smirked.

"I was hoping I'd be able to use this on Birch, but I guess I'll never get the chance now," he thought as his arm was visibly engulfed in lightning as he pulled it back. "Thanks for teaching me how to make my own moves Harley, I'll put this to good use: stopping you. Custom move: Thunder Chop!"

Drew made a side-chopping motion with his arm, leaving a trail of lightning as it cut through the blast door as though it were butter. Engulfing the rest of his body in a yellow, crackling light, he burst through the now very weakened door with ease, leaving a massive human-sized hole in the steel door before it collapsed completely. He stood up and walked towards the core generator. He took out his wallet and pulled out a picture. The picture was of him and May. It was taken during a photoshoot to promote the Top-class Contest Finals, where the Top Coordinator would be decided. He thought back to when it was taken.

Five years ago...

"Is this photoshoot really necessary?" Drew asked, annoyed. "It's just a Contest Final."

"Yeah, but this was.... an unexpected turn of events," May said, as a TV played the news, which was talking about the Contest Final.

"Well I have to say this is certainly a first in Coordinator history," the anchorlady said. "Rising star, and the Princess of Petalburg May Maple was able to win her way to the Contest finals to fight for the honor of becoming a Top Coordinator, beating her rival, Drew Larousse to advance to the Contest Final. As many of us know, this prodigy was initially supposed to Wallace, our Former Coordinator. However, as we all learned during a press conference last month, Wallace has stepped down due to a tragic diagnosis of cancer. We hope for a speedy recovery for one of the best Coordinators in history."

"Still hard to believe that Wallace had to step down," Drew spoke. "Even if it was willingly." May nodded solemnly in response.

"Following this tragic news, the Top Coordinators of the other League Regions convened and made a surprising decision. Many people were expecting another Top Coordinator to take Wallace's place in the upcoming Contest Final. However, it was decided to hold a tournament among the Master-Class Coordinators. The winner of that tournament was Drew Larousse of Larousse City, who pulled off a narrow victory against Dawn Berlitz of Twinleaf Town in the Sinnoh Region. Many Contest fans will know that both of these Coordinators have one of the best rivalries we've seen in a long time. Though the circumstances are indeed tragic, this is a rematch that fans have been wanting, and the stakes truly could not be higher."
