Chapter 66~House Fire

Riley said goodbye to everyone then went on a jet home. She got back and acted normal at first. She walked in the tower and seeing thor smiled.

"Stark told Peter, about the whole mj thing and then the breakup and you and loki" Thor told her. She sighed "That son of a bitch, couldn't keep it to himself until I told peter" Riley moaned. "Loki told me tsht you were with that freind Jessica's of yours how-" Thor began but froze. "Why's there a plaster on your arm" Thor said. Riley gulped, how the hell did he notice so quickly, the plaster was because of how many times shed been peirced with a needle.

"It's nothing, just scraped my arm" she lied. Thors eyes squinted and searched her like seh had something on her. "You seem different" he said. Different, how? How the hell is her losing powers making her seem different. She shrugged her shoulders and walked off.

"Yo, I guess thor told you I'm sorry, but you got a mission with Nat, now" tony said peaking his head through her door. She froze "Umm, what's the mission" she asked. "There's a house on fire 2 blocks down, fire fighters can't get over a fallen down tree, there's 6 people trapped inside, mats already gone" he said. Riley nooded. She didn't realy care about her suit right now, so she just left then.

The house blazed, Nat must already been inside. Riley ran in, Nat was helping a elderly lady down from the 2nd floor "Got and magic think you can do" Nat said. Riley didn't reply butt kept on looking for others. Fire didn't effect her that much before but without her powers, she didn't asorb the flames it hurt her, she coughed a bit but kept looking. After moving a couple of wood planks she helped 2 twin girls out the house. Nat was at this moment helping a man get out. About 2 left.

Riley heard a scream. She ran up the stairs. A girl, about 13 was trying to defend herself with cups of water while a lady who must of been her mother was trying to move some planks of wood which were baricading them in. Riley ripped them all done and helped the two out the room but then the floor to the stairs broke. Nat ran up the stairs, "I'll help catch you two" she said to the mother and daughter. The daughter jumped and Nat caught her. Then the mother. "That's it Riley, let's get out of here" Nat said. "I'll get over myself get these two out of here, the place is gonna break soon" riley said and Nat nodded.

Riley was alone the flames licking at her. She coughed several times and fell to the ground, the smoke was too much. She heard a floorboard creak and turned quickly, she thought someone was there but it wasn't the floor was breaking them suddenly she fell down three floors.
