Chapter 4

Soleil POV

4 months later

"SOLEIL!" I heard Lynette yell while I was adjusting my outfit for school.

"Yeah" I said loud enough for her to hear.

"Get out here! Now!" She yelled, I sighed. What did I do now?

I walked out the room with my backpack on and said "Yeah"

"What the fuck is this?" She asked holding up a pack of swisher sweets, different packs of blunt wraps, and a bag with weed in it.

"Looks like weed and blunt wraps." I said.

"Don't get smart Soleil. Why is this in my house?" She asked.

"Oh! You're assuming I did it??" I asked.

"I know you did it! My kids don't smoke!" Lynette yelled.

All three of them smoke together, I've seen it. But shit I ain't no snitch, and she wouldn't believe me either way.

"And I don't either!" I said, yet. But I'm gone try it one day.

"Yeah right!" She yelled.

"It wasn't me! I wouldn't bring that in your house when you harass me all the time anyway!" I yelled.

"Harass you? Little girl you better watch your mouth. I'm gone deal with yo ass when you get home" Lynette said.

"Fuck that" I said walking out the house.

"What the fuck you say Soleil?!" Lynette yelled but I shut the door behind me and walked to the bus stop.

I'm sick of this shit. Being the blame for everything, being treated like shit just because I'm not her damn child. She shouldn't be a foster mother then if she's gonna be a bitch about it.

Tremaine POV

"Good work you guys! We coming together in two days so y'all better be ready." Coach Walker said as to all of us we finished practice.

Me and Jaden walked to the bench and we sat down, I always bring me and cuh a water so I passed Jaden one.

"Thank you" He said.

"You're welcome" I said back, he changed his shoes and said "You coming with the homies to Tam Burger's?"

"Nah, I'ma go straight home wit it but I'll see y'all tomorrow" I said as me and him did our handshake.

"Aight nigga, see you." He said and I nodded my head as he walked out the gym.

As he walked out, Soleil walked in and I rose my eyebrows.

"Hey" She said walking over to me.

"Wassup Soleil, how you know I was in here?" I asked.

"Remember you said you had practice till 4. And we always been saying for months that we needa play one day" She said.

"Oh so you challenging me?" I asked standing up and I smiled.

"Yep. So what you say big baller?" Soleil asked grabbing the ball from me.

"Well you came dressed for the occasion" I said. She had on basketball shorts and a big white t-shirt.

"If you stay ready, you ain't gotta get ready." Soleil said shrugging.

"Mmm. I like that. Aight let's get it" I said and we both smiled walking to the middle of the gym floor.

"Check" She said bouncing the ball to me and I bounced it back before she started dribbling while I was tryna block her but she got from around me running to the rim and made a lay up.
