Soleil POV

"You have a collect call from the Vegas Correctional Facility. Would you like to accept the charges?" The voice lady said. I scrunched my eyebrows. It has to be my dad. Who else would be calling me from jail?

"Y-yes.." I said, I grew nervous immediately. This call was out of no where.

"Hello? Nook?" My dad said.

"Hey.... Hey dad" I said nervously.

"Wow I ain't heard your voice since you was bout.... 4." He said sighing.

"I know..." I said.

"Baby girl... My nook. How are you Zay?" He asked me.

My middle name is Alizè (pronounced Ali-Zay) And my dad gave me my middle name so sometimes he calls me by my middle name. It switches from Soleil, to Alizè or Zay, to Nook lmao. Whichever he's in the mood for.

"I'm good, how are you?" I asked.

"Shit, tryna keep my head up in here. But I got good news, I know you read my letter right?" He said.

"Yeah, you didn't get the one I sent back?" I asked.

"Not yet" He said.

"Oh... It should be there soon" I said.

"Well, next week I got a court date. And I should be getting out shortly after that" My dad said and I screamed in excitement.

"Ahh! You serious?!" I said jumping out the bed.

"Yeaaaaa Zay ya old man finna be out" He said and I smiled.

"I'm so happy!" I said.

"Me too baby. I gotta make everything up to you, I wasn't there" He said and I sighed.

"It's okay.." I said.

"No it ain't. Hold me accountable." My dad said.

"Yeah... I hear you dad" I said.

"I gotta see you and Desireè, and fix everything. And I will. I can't wait to see you, but I need a favor though" He said.

"Mhm" I said.

"Since I'm locked out here in Vegas-"

"Yeah and why? You from Compton dad, why were you even out there?" I asked and we both laughed.

"Did some shit out here that I can't take back" He said and I chuckled shaking my head.

"Mmm but what's the favor?" I asked.

"I'll be catching a flight down there to you. I wanted to see if you could pick me up from the airport?" He asked.

"Of course! Of course oh my gosh" I said with a smile.

"You down?" He asked.

"Of course I'm down!" I said.

"Aight, my girlfriend Emani gone be there too, y'all can meet. She been with me a few months, almost a year" My dad said and I scrunched my eyebrows.

"How y'all meet?" I asked.

"In here." He said and I chuckled.

"I figured. Aww a hood love story" I said and we both laughed.

"Mhm and from what I'm hearing, you have a boyfriend" My dad said.

"Diana told you?" I asked.

"Yeah" He said.

"Well yes I do. I mentioned that in the letter that you didn't get yet. His name is Tremaine. The best thing that ever happened to me dad, for real" I said.
