Chapter 83

Tremaine POV

2:45 AM

I woke up in the middle of the night and realized Soleil was not next to me and I scrunched my eyebrows.

I sat up and looked ahead, seeing she was on the computer typing.

Had her prescription glasses on and everything.

"Mookie" I said.

She turned around and said "Did I wake you babe?"

"No, I just realized you weren't beside me, I ain't have nothing to hold" I said.

She giggled and said "Aww I'm sorry. I'm just working on a short story that I wanna put in the library. The librarian Janet said she'd let me"

"For real?" I said. "I didn't know that's what you've been working on all these hours" I added.

"Mhm. This is a big start for my career as an author, and I cannot fuck up." Soleil said.

Then she yawned and took her glasses off for a moment, rubbing her face.

"Babe, before I went to sleep you were on the computer doing this, and that was at 9. It's almost 3 in the morning now" I said.

"I'm just trying to make sure it's perfect" Soleil said.

I got out the bed, and walked over to her. I bent down a bit since she was sitting and I wrapped my arms around her, kissing her cheek over and over.

"You need rest Mookie. You need a clear mind so you can do the book perfectly, don't you think?" I said.

"But-"

"What I say?" I said grabbing her chin and she blushed.

"It ain't healthy staying up all night doing that unless you absolutely have to. You need some sleep. Aight?" I said.

She smacked her lips before playfully rolling her eyes and saying "Okay.."

I laughed and said "That's my baby" as she stood up and gave me a hug then a kiss.

"I'ma smoke this wood outside first though, on the porch. I already rolled it so" Soleil said as she showed it to me on her ashtray.

"Aight, I'm finna use the bathroom then I'll be waiting on you" I said.

"Okay" Soleil said as she left out the room to go outside.

Soleil POV

I was outside sitting on the front porch, and I lit the blunt before putting it in my mouth.

I was so tired. I'm finna smoke this and just go to sleep. I've been up working all night on this short story. I just wanna get my name out there.

I inhaled the smoke down my lungs before exhaling, tilting my head back.

I seen my neighbor Gina come outside to walk her dog, and I sighed because I know I gotta talk to her about this mess.

I was not looking forward to it but it has to be done because she's just doing too much now.

And it's making me and my man uncomfortable. And I ain't having that.

"Hey Soleil!" Gina said waving.

She was kinda loud considering it's 3 in the morning and everybody is sleep.

I gave her the head nod exhaling smoke from my mouth, and I was just scrolling through my phone.

I seen her from the corner of my eye crossing the street to get to me with her dog and I sighed under my breath but aye, this gotta get done.
