Chapter 6

Quick note: Now at this point in time, after we graduated me and Tremaine lost complete contact with each other. I didn't have instagram or nothing yet, just a phone number. So we never seen each other or talked after high school, until later of course🥰. So he told me everything he was doing at the time and I wrote it out for him. Okay go ahead and read.

Soleil POV

17 years old

"I'm gonna miss you guys so much.." I said to Duke and his mother.

We finally graduated high school and I was going off to college but I was staying out here.
Duke and his mother were leaving out the states. He's going to college in New York.

I'm going to Cal State Dominguez Hills. And right now they just dropped me off here since I had my dorm and everything set up already.

"I'ma miss you too sis, but we'll keep in touch. I promise" Duke said giving me a hug, then I gave his mother a hug.

"Don't hesitate to call if you need us" She said.

"Well, I just wanna say, thank you both for giving me a roof over my head for the past three years. I was in a bad foster home and you guys helped me and nurtured me and I'll forever appreciate that. Thank you so much" I said.

"No problem at all baby! We love you, and I'm gonna miss you" His mom said hugging me again.

"I'ma miss y'all too but I'll call from time to time." I said, I was sad they were leaving but I was happy to be starting college. So it was mixed emotions and bittersweet.

"Now get on in there. I'll talk to you later sis" Duke said.

"For sure. Call me when you guys land!" I said.

"I got chu" He said as they got back in the car, I sighed a little and waved bye, and they waved back.

I watched them as they drove off and then turned around looking at this big ass college I was about to walk into.

A brand new start. I already knew where my dorm and everything was at already, I already had my things sorted out in there so. I was ready.

Tremaine POV

"You seen the coaches in the crowd? Nigga I think we gone get recruited" Jaden said as we just finished our first basketball game in college.

We both decided to go to UCLA, and we both got accepted.

"I hope so cuh" I said grabbing my bottle of water from my locker.

"Where's Antoinette? She came for you?" He asked.

"Nah, she said she had some school shit to study for" I said.

"But the game was like an hour and a half" Jaden said.

"That's what I said. But shit, it's her call, I ain't trippin" I said.

I lowkey feel like ever since we graduated we been growing apart. We just not as into each other. It ain't just her, I ain't gone lie. I ain't been in it either, I don't know why.

But if it continues, I think I'ma dead the relationship because what's the point?

It's like you're looking at someone but they're not there. It's useless.

"You trippin cuh" Jaden said.

"I'm really not" I said chuckling.

"Then damn why don't you just break up with her then" He said laughing too.

"Because I wanna give it a chance. I like the girl so-"

"Whaaaat" Jaden said and I laughed.

"What?" I asked.
